18. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

The Founders realized that mankind was a creation of God. The Founders also declared they believed all men were created equal. Mankind, therefore, received certain rights that were given to them by their Creator. The Declaration of Independence makes this fact very clear. It also states that to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their powers from the consent of the governed. Because of this our Constitution formed our government with separated and limited powers.
