OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

George Washington's comment that “Religion and morality are the essential pillars of civil society” is still true today.

I voted in these primaries and general elections:

2010 General Election, 2010 Republican Primary, 2012 General Election, 2012 Republican Primary, 2014 General Election, 2016 General Election, 2016 Republican Primary

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Every human being has worth and deserves the chance to live. If a baby must be prematurely removed from the mother because of health complications, every effort should be made to save that baby. We should treat both the mother and baby as human beings worthy of medical treatment and care. I won’t get into the rape/incest exception issue because the left uses this argument to justify all abortions for any reason.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

“If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary.” —James Madison We are all stained with original sin and fall short of perfection. That’s why it was so important for our Founders to craft a system that limited the ambitions of people in government while protecting the individual.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a practicing Roman Catholic that actually believes in church teachings.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

My voting record and public advocacy for issues clearly expresses my conservative views.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Help people obtain employable skills while creating a pro-growth business environment.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

We need to find a way to help cover people with pre-existing conditions while allowing the market to create coverage that people actually want. We need more transparency and competition in healthcare.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Maintain a low tax and minimal regulatory environment to allow businesses to invest, expand, and compete on their own.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have a bachelors degree in Political Science with a emphasis on public leadership. I’ve also served on the city council and as Mayor of Rice Lake. I’ve also been an effective, conservative state representative for the last 3 1/2 years.
