OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
1. Free enterprise and the right to private property turn mankind's natural self interest into the fairest and most productive economic system there is, and are the key to national prosperity.
Strongly Agree
2. It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health care and a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
3. The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.

5. The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) should be repealed by Congress.

6. Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

7. Marriage is a union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

8. Efforts to bring Islamic law (shariah) to America do not pose a threat to our country and its Constitution.
Strongly Disagree
9. Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
10. Governments should pay to develop wind and solar energy solutions when these are not economically feasible.

15. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
The question of “Can mankind self-govern?” had been asked and unanswered..until our founding fathers, through divine intervention, created our Constitution. There will always be those who seek to dominate, who seek to subjugate, who are driven only by self-interest. There will always be oppressive governments whose leaders will try to take power from constituents. We have developed the best system of governance which protects freedoms and limits tyrannical leadership.
16. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.
Good Agriculture Policy: We sincerely need representation on the Ag Committee. We need to guarantee our domestic food supply to ensure we are never at the mercy of foreign nations in terms of feeding Americans. Good Education Policy: I am opposed to the Federal Government dictating education policy when this should be a local control issue. I will work to strengthen American schools and remove all federal mandates on curriculum, assessment and evaluation. Good Economic Policy: We need to overhaul our tax code and get our economy back on track so that we can pass good (limited) budgets and rid ourselves of the tragic burden of debt. With a clean tax code and real private-sector job growth, we will stabilize America's economy, pay off the debt and improve the lives of all Americans. I also believe I have a comprehensive, 10th amendment solution to our Health-Care crisis and I will work to repeal ObamaCare and replace it with my sovereign state solution to a completely untenable law.
17. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?
I abhor abortion. I detest it in all its forms. I believe that according to the constitution, the federal government cannot regulate what states determine to be allowable. I believe that we in Kansas should determine for ourselves the limits on this heinous activity. I do not pretend to have all the answers to this complex issue but I would support its elimination.
18. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.
God. Constitution, Voters, Congress, Supreme Court, Industry, Academia.
19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was raised and have always been Roman Catholic. I have always had ultimate faith in God and that he works through man to allow us to live in faith and in service to him and each other. I value the family. I cherish the institution of marriage and will work to protect and ensure it. I have great appreciation for respect, decency and civility and will strive every day to live in an honorable way. I detest fear, hatred and disrespect. I believe in treating others as you would have them treat you, even in the face of poor treatment. I will show respect regardless of what others do and I will lead with a clear conscious that I am working towards improving society and representing everyone fairly, whether they share my values or not.
