15. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
Abuse of power by the governing authority is what sparked the American revolution and inspired the Founders to create a Constitutional system of government with checks and balances between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches.
16. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.
Domination of Congress by a single faction or political party was a concern of the Founders of our Constitution and continues to be a concern to the present day. The election of Independent candidates to Congress can fulfill the our need for continuing the effective checks and balances written into our Constitution. The mandatory purchase of health insurance as part of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)deprives our citizens of their freedom of choice; our freedoms are precious and not subject to the whims of a political party that happens to control both the White House and both Houses of Congress. Protection of vital American Industry through an Industrial policy for our nation is essential to continue to be an industrialized country.
17. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?
We are a nation of laws and at present the practice of abortion is legal. It is in my view a poor choice to accomplish population control or to avoid unwanted pregnancies. To fight the battle of Pro Choice vs Pro Life in the streets is not appropriate for a great nation. It is a subject that needs to be debated under a constitutional framework. The debate needs to consider the effect on future generations of Americans as well as existing attitudes on the subject of abortion. I believe it is unwise for me to address this topic in a piecemeal manner.

Our system of Representative Government is established by the US Constitution that also provides for ammendments. That document is the governing authority of our nation and protects the freedoms of our people. All other activities are secondary.
