15. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
First a follow up on Question 15. Our nation was found upon a Republic, not a pure democracy. With that in mind, I would agree with the statement. Now, mankind, when left to its own, is selfish and power hungry. Our Founders knew this and setup a system of checks and balances that would offset this nature. The result is our Republic and form of government that, when used correctly, prohibits the abuse of any one branch.
16. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.
For me there is one key issue at hand and this issue is the root of all our other issues. The root is our core values. Our core values dictate where we go as a nation. Our nations leadership has a set of core values, but it is not the same that our nation was founded upon. Our nation was founded upon values such as Commitment, Personal Responsibility and Trust. Our current leadership is more interested in power struggles, what they can get and blaming anyone else that prevents them from getting their own way. What we need is a restoration of our core values. Once these core values are restored, our root will be restored and healthy and the fruit (all the other issues) will be restored and healthy as well.
17. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?
All life is created at conception by God and is precious. The only time that abortion should be considered would be if the mother's life is in danger.
