The platform page of the campaign website: www.goldberg2018.com/platform The following was published in a recent newsletter from the campaign (link to newsletter in the archive is below): Recently, I was asked how I define conservatism. Here's how I answered: It is about individual liberty and a fundamental belief in the other side of the coin - personal responsibility. To me, conservatism is about an optimistic view of the human spirit. We believe that people will succeed if you give them a chance, that people will make the right choices if given the options, and will show compassion and care for each other when needed. How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Change the debate. Focus on healthCARE reform instead of health insurance reform, starting with tort reform. Recognize and encourage charitable support of our fellow man.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

I often talk about "Empowerment, not Entitlement", explaining that the job of the government (when the government even does get involved) is to help the governed to succeed, not simply help the governed.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

Simplification and lower tax rates.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Welfare to work programs that encourage working and/or development of professional skills through volunteering or training. Promoting personal responsibility.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

By not using the trust fund for any other purpose.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

My past (education, upbringing, professional, personal and political life) has included a broad range of experiences that allows me to relate to the struggles and perspectives of typical New Jersey citizens, while also making me someone that they can relate to in return. While my platform is decidedly Conservative, I was not born or brought up in a politically involved family - rather, I was raised in a fairly liberal community and surrounded by liberal ideals. The positions I have come to were arrived at through studying and analyzing the issues - a personal journey I share with voters that provides a path that they, too, can follow to join what I proclaim is "The Party of Optimists".
