Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I am pro-life, and I believe abortion should be illegal except in cases of rape, incest, and when the life of the mother is in danger.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

I believe that government taxes too much and spends too much. I supported President Trump's tax reform, which lowered rates and simplified our tax structure. Many states around the country are moving to lower their taxes as well, and I believe Arkansas should phase out our state income tax. Controlling spending is a essential if we are to lower our tax burden.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

We must reform all areas of government and find savings in every agency. I have led by example by reducing my own office budget over 15% and never requesting an increase over the past 8 years as Lieutenant Governor.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

The government cannot and should not be in the business of closing houses of worship.

I support Arkansa's current laws on this subject, which balance the need to protect public health from communicable diseases with commonsense exemptions for people with religious or philosophical objections.


NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

I believe we should work with our allies around the world to oppose radical Islamic terrorism wherever it is found to exist.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

I believe that before any "reforms" are considered for immigration law, the federal government must first enforce the existing laws related to immigration. We must have security at our southern border. We should allow for reasonable numbers of work-based immigration, as well as reasonable numbers of immigrants fleeing political or religious persecution, provided that they can be thoroughly vetted and determined to not be a threat to national security.

We should always be evaluating our current laws to ensure that we preserve the integrity of our elections. I believe any charges of voter fraud should be thoroughly investigated, and should be prosecuted if the evidence warrants criminal charges.

Racism, in all its forms, is sinful and abhorrent. The United States is a melting pot of people from all different backgrounds, and it is important for our country that we work to improve race relations by focusing on our shared values as Americans rather than dividing each other by race.

I have a long track record of advocating on issues important to conservatives. I would encourage anyone who wants to learn more about my campaign or where I stand on a specific issue to contact my campaign.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

As Attorney General, three of my top priorities will be (1) Pushing back against federal overreach from the Biden administration, (2) Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the men and women serving in law enforcement, and (3) Working to keep our communities safe by keeping violent, dangerous criminals where they belong -- in prison. This will require reforming Arkansas's broken parole system.


CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I am a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment. We should not place additional restrictions on law-abiding gun owners. We should, however, do a better job of keeping guns out of the hands of violent and dangerous people.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
