QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Not a single circumstance would validate such butchery!
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
One of my biggest pet peeves is govt. spending the peoples money on things - twice. Closest example in immediate need for reform: The Colorado State DOE. For years Colorado Democrats have leveraged the education system for their activism, and mechanism for raising taxes. With U.S. Dept. of Ed that we also pay for, the state DOE usually modeles curriculum from federal standards. Save $10-$14B/FY - abolish State DOE, reform Edu Funding, return local control to communities each district ser
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Neutral
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Exactly what it implies: Story: There is a Catholic priest here in Pueblo. Father Thomas at Holy Family Church; a hardcore Democrat, noted racist, and particularly "mouthy" when it comes to "politica." Having once referred to me as the "Antichrist" and a "Disgrace to my race" -- for having the audacity of being a Conservative while latino... THe problem he has here - is that I, as a Catholic latino myself -- have a tendency to get mouthy right back... The last conversation I had with him, centered around this very question: "There is a separation between church and state for a reason." "If you want to get political "Father" -- you need to "Pull" the collar and RUN FOR OFFICE..." ...again, my faith is my own. I do not wear it on my sleeve, not do I try to convince others to see faith my way!
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Open Colorado to interstate commerce, the free market, and leave healthcare decisions to patients and families.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Legal immigrants - under the "circumstance" of -- having gone through our processes THE RIGHT WAY!
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Neutral
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Born to a Catholic family, By spiritual beliefs are mine and mine alone.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
As a staunch conservative, I believe that there are matters of importance such as fiscal responsibility, property rights, and spiritual freedom, however, (the current colorado governance is the prime example of this - today...) there are some things that I would NEVER consider to be a function of government. I tend to get a word into the Pueblo chieftain.com (search "Mugatu") when allowed by the liberal propaganda news paper. Please feel free to review any editorials there...
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
Life experience! Seeing and having been exposed to oppressive, self-serving and corrupt government. I see it's effects on families including members of my extended... ...any politician that uses the term "lend a hand up" -- is a politician that would say ANYTHING to get themselves elected, then aid in policy like EBT, Housing, financial assistance -- and allowing for the lifetime abuses of those "hands" being lent... What qualifies me to hold office? Clearity, brutal honesty, and my unwillingness to compromise the people and values of my community, state, or country for political power of a centralized government.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
Me personally - No. Although, Colorado Republican politics tends to revolve around the "middle school/rumor mill" philosophy in most areas of the state; and sexual misconduct tends to be an ace in the deck, circular firing squads have taken down many of honest candidates in recent years...
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
We've been at this a while now...Colorado was not "won" in 2018 -- but rather PURCHASED by Jared Polis. A change in Governance will be a refreshing and welcomed reality for those feeling under represented or completely ignored. Unfortunately, The Colorado GOP also resides in their own "ivory tower" and with limited resources they are ((willing)) to extend to legislative candidates... The reality is, any one of us an stand alone and lose our election(s)...But not a single one of us can stand ALONE AND WIN! I'm running to defeat a democrat who was squeezed into casting the deciding vote on SB17-256 that took $264M away from her own district in Pueblo, CO and rural healthcare. Keep in mind, Colorado voters may only vote for 1 state representative, but the other 64 -- could in theory cast votes for you! Will you Help...? www.alexmugatu.com IN FREEDOM :: FOR FREEDOM Alexander Lucero-Mugatu R-PUEBLO COUNTY Candidate - COLORADO HOUSE DISTRICT 46
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
None. Restriction only restricts law-abiding. The lawless recognizes no such regulation! 2A says: "The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Thats all I need to know to protect and defend those closest to me... Rest assured, If elected -- and a new majority takes the Colorado legislature, I FULLY INTEND ON REPEALING - EVERY EMPTY REGULATORY GUN GRAB POLICY -- Colorado Democrats used to criminalize and handicap law-abiding citizens!
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
1) Level the playing field between: The People, Commerce, and Government *Iron-clad consumer and tax-payer protections 2) Energy and independence legislation; centered around jobs, water storage, infrastructure (BEYOND THE BOUNDARIES OF "FANTASIA" (Denver Metro)), and a free market energy policy that'll open Colorado energy independence. 3) Shrink the size and scope of our state government, cut waste, end bureaucracy, and restore as much local control (including education) before my time is up...
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
As a conservative, latino, REPUBLICAN from (the UBER BLUE and Democratic corrupt - Pueblo, CO) I see the reality of racism, used by the racists who cry for it! Is it a threat to domestic security? YES! it is... The Racist Al Sharpton, The Racist Jesse Jackson, Don Lemon, Lawrence O'donnell, White liberals on college campuses - telling me how much I am persecuted...all for their own personal gain suggests the answer to this question is - Yes. The shade thrown on such hate - by these people, among others is a dangerous thing! (Side note: there are a few of these race baiters currently self-serving in the Colorado general assembly to this day...)
