QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Choose not to answer
I believe in the sanctity of life, and meeting “Standards” is no better than radical late term abortions pushed by far left democrats.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I believe life begins at conception. We need to protect life, and I have demonstrated my commitment by my actions in the General Assembly. We can’t allow late term abortion till the moment of birth.
Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?
I believe the SCOTUS was correct in their decision that this issue belongs to the states. As a member of Congress I will fight to ensure that federal dollars are not being used to sponsor abortions or agencies like planned parenthood.
ECONOMY
What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?
Driving down energy prices, ending out-of-control spending, cutting taxes, and slashing regulation and red tape. The more the Federal government gets invovled in the economy, the worse it does.
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Strongly Agree
When people take out these loans, they acknowledge their responsibility to pay them back. There is no reason the hard working people of North Carolina should be paying for the Ivy League indoctrination degree of someone from California.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
ESG is a plague on our businesses and country. Public investments should be made with the goal of delivering the best financial results for those invested, not the out-of-touch goals of some far left socialist who wants to use someone elses money to create their fantasyland.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Separation of Church and state means that the government cannot and should not have any say in the teachings of our religious institutions, or control of our houses of worship. One of the most egregious examples of this was during the pandemic when the government tried to tell us we could not congregate at our places of worship. I believe that my faith guides my moral compass, and I am proud that my religious values help shape the person I am and my beliefs.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
No one should be required to do anything that they feel violates the teachings of their faith or beliefs. Any attempt by the government to do so should be met with harsh condemnation and swift action to stop bad actors from forcing their beliefs on hard-working North Carolinians, and Americans.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
During the pandemic, we saw a rush to vaccinate without cause for concern about long term effects of these vaccines. Individuals should have the choice to receive a vaccine, they should not be mandated to do so.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
Promises made, promises kept. With that being said, anytime government is involved, we see endless waste, fraud, and abuse. Entitlements are the biggest driver of our nation's debt, and if we don't get serious about solutions these programs will go belly up right in front of our eyes. First and foremost we need to repeal Obamacare, and I believe we can do things like block granting funding to states to manage these programs.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
The first and foremost responsibility of the Federal Government is to protect its citizens. Like President Trump, I believe in peace through strength. The greatest weapon we have is deterrence, and we can do that by strengthing our military and national security agencies so bad actors like Russia, Iran, and China think twice before making a move.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
China is the greatest national security and economic threat we face. Our politicans have failed us by allowing them to purchase farmland near our military bases, and not holding them accountable for Covid and their intellectual property and economic manipulation. We need to ensure that American companies don't outsource jobs and production to foreign countries like China, and elect a strong president who will deter their growing aggression.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Israel is our strongest ally in the Middle East and a lifelong partner. The events of October 7th were horrific, and Israel has every right to defend itself and its people. Ensuring the defeat of Hamas, and the continued safety and stability of Israel is paramount to ensuring a strong and safe America, and that bad actors in the Middle East don't step out of line.
What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?
I have the utmost respect for anyone who has worn the cloth of our nation and served in our military to protect this country. The reason we have seen a decline is because radical bureacrats and left wing sympathizers have taken it on themself to politcize and turn our military woke. When our military leaders are more concered with parading around transgenders and drag queens than they are with developing war fighters, our military readiness will suffer.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
No amnesty and build the wall. We need to shut down the southern border and pause immigration until we can figure out what is going on. Under President Trump, we saw a safe and secure border. With Joe Biden, we see daily reports of criminals and terrorists infiltrating our country. While some candidates believe in a pathway to citizenship, I believe we need to shut it down until we take back control of our border.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
School choice has done more to improve the outlook of a child’s livelihood than the current system has. Kids should be focused on learning the ABC’s and 123’s, not radical gender theory and liberal indoctrination to foster a hatred for this great nation.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
Whenever the federal government gests involved, things take a turn for the worse. I support abolishing the DOE and letting localities and parents decide the curriculum.
VALUES
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Gender transition services for minors is tantamount to child abuse. Ending taxpayer funding isn't enough, these procedures need to be banned.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
My three sisters and I were raised in a Christian home. My faith and values guide my decisions.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
As the Chariman of the House Election law committee, I have fought tirelessly to secure our elections. I also lead the charge to ensure President Trump appeared on our ballot as far-left states are removing him. Having voter ID will increase the security and confidence of our electoral system.
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
EQUALITY
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Strongly Disagree
Climate change is a myth promoted by snake oils salesman who simply want to use taxpayer money to facilitate a transition to a socialist society. Look no further than AOC’s radical green new deal. The climate change movement is about controlling your lifestyle, eating habits, and anything else they can get their hands on.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
We should strive for energy independence by utilizing the vast oil, natural gas and coal resources that we have in our country while researching other alternatives and supporting the free market in their development.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To provide for the common defense and stay out of the way of everything else.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
I believe and trust Law Enforcement to keep our community safe. They are professionals who deserve our support. I will always back the blue, and fight to give them the tools they need to protect our neighborhoods.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
None. People have a right to protect themselves, any attempt to interfere with that is a violation of the constitution.
