QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I believe that human life begins at conception and should be legally protected until natural death.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers should not receive any taxpayer dollars!

If Roe v. Wade is overturned by the US Supreme Court, how far are you willing to go to roll back North Carolina's statutory abortion law that allows abortion up to 20 weeks?

First and foremost, legislation should be introduced in North Carolina to repeal and remove from statute NCGS 14-45.1 which legalizes abortions.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Would you support a limitation on chemical abortion that protects women from taking abortion pills without the care and supervision of a qualified physician?

Yes

ECONOMY

The government should do more to close the gap between the working class and the wealthy.

Strongly Disagree

With a strong work ethic and management skills, every citizen has the opportunity to succeed and live the American Dream.

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

I would recommend comprehensive tax reform such as a flat tax which has a low tax rate and eliminates the current Tax Code's multiple taxes on savings and investments. We need to develop a modern and simple tax based on the principle that all taxpayer's are treated equally. We, also, need to decrease the size of the IRS.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

All students may not be suitable for college; and students who attend college should value a quality college education.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

I stand firm In upholding Our Constitutional "conscious belief"!

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

In times of emergency, when the community as a whole faces impending harm and where the measures are designed to meet the imminent danger, the constitution does allow some temporary restrictions; however, government cannot impose restrictions on churches that do not apply to nonreligious entities.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

I believe in the concept of separation between church and state which reinforces the legal right of a free people to live their faith without the fear of governmental interference.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C. Medicare and Medicaid should remain available with reforms particularly in the Medicaid program. In North Carolina, we have worked to transform Medicaid.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Never, decisions regarding vaccinations are personal decisions.

EDUCATION

States should allow parents to use the Opportunity Scholarship Program to fund private school for their children.

Strongly Agree

Particularly, children with special needs! I worked with Rep. Paul Stam in the passage of the Opportunity Scholarship Program.

In what situations does a parent not have the right to know what their child is being taught in public school?

Absolutely, under "No" situation!

When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?

Never!

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I believe in the idea of equality before God and the law, but not government forced economic equality.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

We must end the indoctrination of our most precious resource, Our Children!

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in One God and that the person of Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh who was born of a virgin. I believe that Jesus Christ was crucified, buried and resurrected and He sits at the right hand of the Father. And, that we are all sinners and only because of the shedding of Jesus' blood are we saved.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Election integrity is of upmost importance to assure fair elections.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I actually voted for requiring "photo" identification and feel that this should be pursued in the US Supreme Court anytime a case is before the high court. North Carolina's laws have been adjusted over the pass decade in an attempt to resolve voting and election issues. The major issue in North Carolina is getting the judges and justices to apply the law and the NC Constitution, as written, and stop ruling based on their interpretation.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is not a new threat, but, is based on false or misleading narratives which cause discord and creates division in our country..

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

(A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

I agree with "The Framers" that the primary purpose of government is to protect individual rights as stated in the Declaration of Independence and The Constitution, and guaranteed in The Bill of Rights. We are a government of the people, by the people and for the people.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

As evidenced in my voting record in both The NC House and NC Senate.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

NO!

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

"I am a hard working public service who always puts the will of the people first and foremost."

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

All communities are experiencing a shortage of individuals going into law enforcement. This is why I worked to enact the "Law Enforcement Fellows Program" in North Carolina to attract graduating seniors and displaced workers into law enforcement by providing free tuition to achieve their law enforcement certification. Adequate pay is already a serious issue. We, also, owe these officers a debt of gratitude.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None, I am a strong supported of the Second Amendment to Our Constitution!

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

The offender committing the crime should be held liable.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Would you support legislation that prohibits biological boys from competing on girls sports teams?

Yes

I view this as an assault on girls sports.
