QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Both the life of the mother and the life of the unborn child must be protected.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Economic reality promotes a broad low consumption tax. Taxation of productivity creates friction in the economy that penalizes everyone. People spend their money more wisely than government will spend their money so lower taxes are a moral and economic virtue.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

We balance the state budget every year. That said, the state budget grows faster than household budgets, small business budgets and the real economy of Colorado. Spending on pet political project should be eliminated and state spending should be focused on improving public education and the roads and bridges of Colorado.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

The mandatory K-12 education system, which is guaranteed to all and funded with public dollars turns in a 50/50 result. Half of the students in 3rd, 5th, 7th grades are below proficient in reading, writing and math at grade level. Extending and guaranteeing such a system through college would be a mistake.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

People should be allowed to live out their faith in their daily lives. That should lead to a more kind and generous society. Public accommodations laws have been extended to assure access to food and shelter for all people, especially of protected classes such as race. Those protections should not be turned into weapons against people who in good faith seek to live out a kind and decent life, which may extend to their small business.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof… (US Constitution 1st Amendment)

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

I oppose mandatory vaccination requirements by government over the people.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

This is a federal matter.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

This is a matter of federal policy and beyond my purview as a state official. Colorado should avoid policies that cause it to become a magnate for those who have entered the country illegally.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

I have championed multiple bills to help strengthen and support school choice for all Colorado families. Efforts that I continue to support include tax credits for educational choice, scholarships for student who choose to identify educational services that better serve them than the existing public school program.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Strongly Agree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a child of God, saved by the sacrifice of Jesus Messiah.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I have authored and promoted legislation that requires in person voting with photo identification.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

In 2021 I was the prime sponsor on Senate Bill 007 which would have required voters to vote in person, with a photo ID. This bill died in committee. I still stand by such legislation that would improve confidence and integrity in our elections.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

The founders argued that a strong moral society, which includes decency toward every human as precious in the eyes of God and therefore every human heart is fundamental to our sustainability as a nation. This issue includes the irradiation of racism…and so much more.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

Colorado has among the strictest environmental protection laws in the country as they pertain to energy development. And yet efforts continue to shut down the development of safe clean energy. This is a mistake. In recent months it has become clear that as a nation we are importing dirty (both morally and chemically) oil and gas from totalitarian regimes, namely Russia. This policy should be reversed.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

A limited government is instituted among the people to provide for the common defense and reasonable public safety. State level government, like all government, has grown too large and too intrusive into the lives of citizens. My campaigns have always been about creating a tomorrow with SMALLER GOVERNMENT AND FREER PEOPLE.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Click through this compendium of direct source and third party reportage on my record. https://www.paullundeen.org/news.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

NO, NO, no explanation required.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I am the leader of the now nationally recognized effort to “flip” the Colorado Senate into common sense Republican control. The members of the Senate Republican caucus and the team I have assembled have created the best opportunity to change the political paradigm away from total Democrat control to common sense in 2022. Please join our effort and my leadership.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

…the right of people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. (US Constitution, 2nd Amendment)

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree
