18. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

The founding fathers believed that power belongs to God, and it is His to wield as He wills, but as He gives power to we the people, they could see that power belongs to the people, not to government. They had a keen sense of right and wrong, of justice versus injustice, and from their previous experience with government, they knew that absolute power would corrupt absolutely.

19. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God Constitution Voters Congress Supreme Court

20. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

Every life is precious, created by God and should only be taken by God. At times, God might choose to save a baby and take a mother's life. Even in the cases of rape and incest, God can do and has done miracles with children who have not been aborted. There are no such thing as illegitimate children, but there are at times illegitimate parents.

21. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that Jesus, the Son of God, is the Messiah who died on the cross to pay for my sins (and yours!) and rose from the dead 3 days later proving He is God. God is the Creator and Sustainer of life. And it is God for whom I live. If my life as a wife, as a mother, as a business owner, as a candidate and hopefully as a Senator someday is displeasing to God, then I have failed. His Word is my guide. I also believe God willingly forgives those who confess their sins, but that forgiveness should not be used as a license to sin.
