16. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

Our Founding fathers understood that man had a sinful nature and also realized they needed to protect freedom. They also realized they needed to make sure that not one seat of power needed to be with one group, therefore they separated and balanced the powers of our government. Very clever.

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My entire life I have been surrounded by very strong women who from an early age taught me that there was a God who was bigger than most anything that came my way. My grandmother was a very strong Baptist who, thankfully, prayed for me more than I probably deserved. And my mother, who was faced with a very hard upbringing and has triumphed over many obstacles in her own life. She is my hero. Likewise, she has prayed for me, and she and my step-father, being evangelists, instilled a solid background of seeing things through a strong foundation of faith. Additionally, on a personal level having been through some very hard trials in life of losing a young child to violent predatory crime I have been faced with a huge decision of either giving up or fighting for children, families, communities, and I chose to spend the past fifteen years of my life fighting for others in servitude.
