16. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

Many of America's Founding Fathers left countries where the Church was controlled by the state. The desire to express their faith without state interference and control was a motivating factor to carefully define, separate and limit powers seeking to control the "worship of God". Freedom of expression in worship is one of the most powerful expressions in a free society. The Founding Fathers wanted to prevent the same deterioration and spiritual apathy.

17. The founders established pure democracy in the Constitution because they believed that it is the best form of government to ensure the safety and equitable treatment of all citizens.

Strongly Agree

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I became a follower of Jesus Christ as a 14 year old boy. My faith in Christ motivates me daily to serve Him, my fellow man and present the Gospel to those in spiritual need. As a Southern Baptist, I not only cherish but will defend religious liberty. I will do my part to deny the right of any secular or religious authority to impose a confession of faith upon a church or body of churches. I seek to honor the principles of the Bible and believe in the priesthood of believers. Furthermore, I affirm both my liberty in Christ and my accountability to others under the Word of God. It is also my reasonable act of spiritual worship to introduce Christ to others on a regular basis as opportunities present.
