15. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

Absolute power corrupts absolutely; separation of powers insures that no single party, faction or person can gain control of all aspects of government. The Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches are intended to balance power in theory; in practice, the Executive has grown stronger and now exercises near-tyrannical authority (executive actions independent of Congress and the Court), while the Judicial has become the weakest and Court rulings are subject to party affiliation; partisan court.

16. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.

1: Jobs: unemployment is not really 6.7% and the private sector is not 'doing fine'; because of people who looked for work more than a year and have given up and persons who are working part-time, per diem and contracting, the real unemployment figure is closer to 14% and Americans are hurting for work. 2: Taxes: You cannot tax us into prosperity! Raising taxes to fund spending on more social programs is a self-defeating cycle that only impoverishes American workers and places the burden of supporting a welfare state on small business and a dwindling workforce. Alan Greenspan said; "The more you tax a thing, the less you have of it!" We must reduce taxes across the board; according to the Laffer curve, we are already past the 'constriction point' where onerous taxes actually reduce revenue as employers are forced to cut jobs and workers give up working! 3: Term limits; perpetual incumbents serve only their own selfish interests and must be eliminated; we need a term limits Amendment!

17. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

Only when medical conditions in pregnancy pose an immediate life-threatening risk to the mother, or in cases of rape and incest, as determined by judicial authority.

18. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God, who endowed us with inalienable rights; Voters, who give consent to be governed; Constitution, which guarantees these rights; Congress, that makes laws; Supreme Court, that interprets laws and the Constitution.

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
