16. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
The American Founder's, while they had many ideas, chose to decentralize government by giving the federal power to the states. In order to ensure none of the three branches of government gained too much power or authority: the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, where created to maintain the proper levels of authority while relying on the states to maintain their day to day activities without federal government intervention (unless required). A very ingenious system really.
