16. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

Our founding Fathers were Godly men, guided by the principles in scripture. They were personally aware of power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Thomas Jefferson has been quoted as saying, "When you force a man to do that which he abhors it is tyrannical."

Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God, Voters, Constitution, Congress, Supreme Court

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

The values of a community and the values of a nation will determine if that community and nation succeed and prosper. I believe this holds true with regard to our elected leaders. For example, If our elected leaders are honest people of high moral character, if they follow the Christian road then our decisions shall be guided in a “Christian direction”. Thus, I believe making decisions to protect and respect life from conception to natural death and promoting the importance of the family, the sacred institution of marriage and the significance of community values are of the ultimate priority. I will bring to the Ohio Senate the same values that I have exhibited in 48 years of marriage to the same women, and a lifetime of commitment to my God, my family and my community as a husband, father, bible school teacher, high school educator, school board president and four term township trustee. My priority is God, Country and family.
