16. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
Check and balances are necessary to balance competing interests. The Founders knew human frailties and established a way for the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial Branches to co-rule while safeguarding the public trust. The only way to protect and promote the Common Good is for the 3 branches to mesh harmoniously, exercising specifically enumerated powers.Voter apathy, Congressional misbehaviors, Judicial Activism, and unilateral Presidential mandates are not what they had in mind.
17. The founders established pure democracy in the Constitution because they believed that it is the best form of government to ensure the safety and equitable treatment of all citizens.

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
My world view is Christian. Although through public service I attempt to better the temporal order I am a citizen of the Kingdom of God, and I live my life accordingly. My values and vision are shaped by the Judeo-Christian ethic that anchored the vision of the Founding Fathers.
