What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Our founding fathers understood being under rule by a king. They designed our government through the constitution to have separation of powers so that no one individual or group would have absolute power. They also designated to the states in the 10th amendment all powers not defined in the US Constitution. When asked what type of government the people were given, Ben Franklin replied, "A Republic if you can keep it."

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a sinner saved by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ. The bible is the inspired word of God and teaches us of the God Head, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In Matthew 28:19-20, we are commanded to go into all of the world and spread the gospel message of Jesus Christ.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Very Conservative

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

I was asked to serve as chairman of the Kentucky House Republican working group on pro life and family values legislation in the 2016 session of the General Assembly. Through much hard work and prayer, we were able to pass Senate Bill 4 in this past session. This was the first pro-life legislation even allowed to the floor of the house of representatives in 12 years. i was a co-sponsor and assisted in the drafting of House Bill 257. However, this important pro life bill was never called for a vote in committee. Along with my colleagues, we pushed back against increasing the state's debt bu borrowing $3.3 Billion for the teacher retirement fund and still provided $1.284 Billion for our retirement funds.
