16. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
The founders believed that too much power in the hands of one individual or group of individuals was dangerous. Their experience with the British Authorities and their knowledge of world history and current events informed their belief that tyranny would be easily imposed without due restriction. This principle is correct and can be applied at all levels of government. Current events further reinforce that notion.

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior when I was six years old. I have experienced a number of trials in my life that have informed and reinforced my faith. I deeply believe that the solution to any individual problem or moral question can be found within the pages of his word. This belief informs my basic understanding of the interactions of men and how they should be governed. God granted us liberty because to do otherwise would be morally inferior. It is the responsibility of government to defend that liberty that we have been graciously permitted.
