Nebraska Voter Guide

Carol Blood chose Al Davis as her Lt. Gov running mate. Founding member of the Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska, served six years on the Cattlemen’s Beef Board.  Served on local school boards for over 30 years. After election to the Legislature in 2012 Al served on the Transportation, Revenue, Education, Retirement, and Judiciary Committees.  During the 2020 election Al served as Treasurer for Nebraskans for Responsible Lending.  Following his term in the Legislature, he served as secretary for the Organization for Competitive Markets. Began lobbying for the Nebraska Chapter of the Sierra Club in 2020.

Statement after the release of the Dobbs decision:

"I know many of you reading this are thrilled about todays decision on Roe vs Wade. But, be clear about what Nebraska’s trigger bill does and how it violates a woman’s bodily autonomy. Nebraska’s trigger bill creates a police state where doctors must live in fear of being arrested and charged as felons for providing needed healthcare to their patients. It will prevent women from choosing IVF to conceive children, a decision that is best between a patient and a doctor. It will force a child sexually abused and traumatized by incest to not only worry about circumstances she is not old enough to deal with emotionally, but also handle the potential genetic defects caused by incest. The bill does not protect victims of sexual assault and decides what types of birth control should be used by Nebraskans. Medical students will no longer be able to be properly certified in certain procedures meaning should they perform a D&C after a miscarriage, insurance will not pay for the procedure and the patient will be responsible for those charges. Nebraskans need to know the true consequences of these types of bills and understand the time to speak up is now."
