15. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

Apathy toward his fellow man. Last year, the Top 10 US corporations had total income of $169 billion; yet, they paid NO Federal Income Tax, leaving the entire tax burden for those least able to pay. The average Executive salary for 8 of the 10 was over $18 million a year, or $1.5 million a month; yet, 7 of the 10 CEOs belong to the Business Roundtable, a group that advocates raising the minimum retirement age to 70, and wants to cut Social Security and Veterans Benefits.

16. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.

LOWER TAXES - More money in the hands of consumers and investors will open the door to our recovery. LOW-COST HEALTH INSURANCE - Japan, one of the world's leading economies, has had a low-cost national plan as early as the 1970s! REAL JOBS for REAL PEOPLE - Government agencies equate an increase in the GDP with an increase in job opportunities. In fact, an increase in GDP may be due to new investment; and, any new jobs may be located in China, India, the Philippines, or some other foreign country. Practically everything we buy today is made overseas. GMC cars are manufactured in China; and, even Call Center jobs, which may be performed at home by anyone with a landline, are now held by people in India and the Philippines. This is the end result of the current trend of shipping jobs overseas. To reverse this trend, we need to offer Tax Incentives for firms that invest in the Next Generation of job-producing industries: Construction, Manufacturing, Renewable Energy .

17. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

As a Christian, I am Pro-Life. (John 10:10) Currently there's a Bill before Congress that would 'empower' the parents of a pregnant minor to stop an abortion, except in cases where the mother's life would be endangered by allowing the birth. I believe they have a God-given right to do so, without exception. A Doctor has a duty to advise his patients and their family members of any perceived risk. However, Doctors have neither a right nor a duty to perform an abortion. This runs against the Hippocratic Oath, which is: First, do no harm'. Under the 10th Amendment to the US Constitution, powers not delegated to the Federal Government, and not reserved by the Federal Government, are reserved to the States, or to the People. I believe that, in a free society, decisions on matters of life and death must be made by the People; not by physicians, acting alone, or as agents of the government.

18. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God, Constitution, Voters, Congress, Supreme Court Voters come before Congress because they elect their representatives; Congress comes before the Supreme Court because the Court has no legislative power. God is, of course, Oabove all.

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that, as George Washington once said: "It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and without the Bible". (2 Timothy 3:17) I believe the legislative problems faced by our nation can solved by applying the Golden Rule, the rule taught by Christ himself, which is: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". When FDR signed the Social Security Act, he did so not because he -- himself -- needed social security, but out of concern for his countrymen. He was applying o the Golden Rule. We are a Christian nation with a Christian heritage. On Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Christ; and, on Easter Sunday, we celebrate his resurrection. In God We Trust! The world has it's Golden Calves; but, as for us, The Lord is our God, and we have not forsaken Him.
