14. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

After a brief attempt with the Articles of Confederation, our current Constitution was ratified when the Bill of Rights was added. The main goal, however, was not to create a central government that had the same powers possessed by the King of England. Ultimately, all powers rest with the people, and not a dictator or king.

15. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.

Firstly, the budget needs to be balanced, even if it takes a Constitutional Amendment to do so, unless, of course, there is a war or some type of national emergency. If the budget is not balanced, our economic system will crumble and government services will be limited due to paying interest on the national debt. Secondly, we need a fair tax system that taxes millionaires more. If this were done, the budget could be balanced without Draconian cuts in education, food stamps, and other social programs, unless one desires that children starve at a higher rate. Lastly, infrastructure comes to mind. According to the American Society of Civil Engineers, America's infrastructure is considered a "D+" as of 2013. This report includes roads, bridges, dams, waste water and fresh water, etc.It would be in the best interest to bring these structures to a minimum of a "C" - in doing so, we will be able to prevent tragedies, and doing such will provide needed jobs and produce economic developments

16. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

In cases of saving the life of the mother, rape, and/or incest, abortion should indeed be allowed.
