16. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
Their belief in Natural Law. Man derives his basic rights from God, or as John Locke said, "...That all men are by nature free and equal against claims that God had made all people naturally subject to a Monarch." Because of their belief in Natural Law, they realized that no single entity of government should ever hold complete and absolute power. Thus was created our check and balance system.
17. The founders established pure democracy in the Constitution because they believed that it is the best form of government to ensure the safety and equitable treatment of all citizens.

18. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.
God, Constitution, Voters, Industry, Congress/Supreme Court (they both derive an equal amount of authority).
19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
As an ordained pastor, I only make two promises to my constituency. I will never vote against my morals, and I will never vote against my district. My spiritual beliefs and values act as a moral compass. This brings me much needed strength to draw from when I am faced with the challenges of everyday life-which I struggle with every day-as any good Christian does.
