Congress should repeal the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).
Strongly Agree
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
The U.S. military should wait for militant Islamic groups to directly threaten our national security on our shores, rather than eradicate them now wherever they may be worldwide.
Strongly Disagree
The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.
Strongly Agree
I support legislation such as the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) that would prohibit discrimination against individuals, organizations and small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
The federal government should establish Common Core as a nationwide academic standard for high school graduation.
Strongly Disagree
I oppose the resettlement of Syrian refugees into the U.S. without proper vetting.

Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.
I follow the Constitution and Almighty God in my decision making process.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Life is life.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
America's Founding Fathers understood that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely so they began our great experiment by ensuring that no one individual or branch of government held too much authority under its wing. Every organization will seek to grow its influence and power over time and only a healthy respect for the separation of powers defined in the Constitution will ensure the proper functioning of a limited federal government.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
My spiritual beliefs are driven by my Christian faith. I am a social conservative, driven by foundational principles of faith, family and freedom.
Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?
Very Conservative
Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.
I have sought throughout my public service to strength the freedom of the individual. I have been an advocate for protecting our 2nd Amendment Rights from sponsoring Castle Doctrine legislation, to voting for an effort to enshrine in Michigan's constitution the right to hunt, fish and trap to enhancing the right of individuals to secure a concealed weapons permit. I have been a constant critic of the mismanagement of state and federal lands by distant and detached state and federal bureaucrats. I led the fight to use sound scientific principles to manage our game population in order to control the outbreak of wolves in the Upper Peninsula. I lead the effort to establish a land cap to control further public lands from falling out of private ownership in our state. I have voted for and helped pass welfare reform measures in our state to control fraud, waste and abuse. I am proud of my conservative record and hope to bring my common sense approach to Washington.

Additional comment from candidate:
My top three priorities are to get Washington to stop spending money we don’t have, repeal and replace Obamacare and pass laws that help Americans compete for good-paying jobs, not send them overseas. I will take my oath very seriously to support and defend the Constitution just as I have each and every time I have taken that oath previously as a state legislator to support and defend both the US Constitution and Michigan constitution. Additionally, I did not answer Question 13 as the question was unclear to me, in part because I believe we are a Republic and not a pure democracy.
