15. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

James Madison said that the perfect form of government should come from the perfect governor (paraphrase). He then quoted Isaiah 33:22 "For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver and the Lord is our King, it is HE who saves us." Our founders knew that man's pride and constant quest for power required a Constitutional Republic with 3 branches of government that would constantly keep one another in check. The leadership void in all 3 branches has led to the decline of our Republic.

16. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.

Reign in spending/reducing the debt; The $17.5 trillion in debt is the greatest threat to our national security and economy. We do not have a revenue problem but rather a spending problem that has been caused by both parties. We need those from the private sector to bring business acumen to DC in an effort to balance our budget and reign in spending. Tax reform Every tax cut from Coolidge, to Kennedy to Reagan, has resulted in an increase revenue to the Federal government within 24 months. We must reduce the corp tax rate for business owners, corporations and individuals. As a business owner, I understand the burden and restrictions that high taxes place on my business. Career politicians can't truly understand and have a sense of urgency to correct because they have been in the beltway bubble for decades. Reduce regulation Congress passed 72 (roughly) laws last year while the EPA passed thousands of regulation. Congress must take back it's power from the bureaucracy.

17. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

As a believer in Christ, I will always support life. If the mother or baby's life is in danger, the parents should then have the ability to decide how their family will move forward and what chances they are willing to take knowing both the mother and baby could die if they moved forward with birth.

18. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God, Constitution, Voters-We the People, Congress, Supreme Court.

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I'm a Romans 10:9 born again believer in Christ. I'm a deacon at First Baptist Concord in Knoxville, TN. There are only a few promises I will make to voters and one is that I will never compromise or do anything that contradicts Scripture or the Constitution. Your world view may not be through Scripture but you will always know where I stand and be glad to answer any questions you may have about my faith. We will find our common ground as passionate patriots standing for the Constitution.
