14. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
Our founders recognized the temptation inherent in us to overreach our powers and so limited power within each branch of government. They witnessed the abuse of a centralized government that controlled their lives in every way. They knew when left to their own desires an individual ruler with unchecked power could limit freedom and liberty. Every person is endowed by our Creator with "certain unalienable --life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" and government should protect those rights.

15. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.
The three most important issues facing the US today are government overreach through Obamacare, the economy and jobs, and government overregulation of our small businesses and farms. Obamacare is not fixable. It is causing people to lose their healthcare and lose their doctor. It is keeping small businesses from hiring or worse, causing some businesses to move people from full to part-time employment. And because it steals over 700 billion from Medicare, it is threatening the health care of senior citizens. The federal government does not have a revenue problem, it has a serious spending problem. The federal government brings in approximately $200 billion per month in tax revenue. Balancing the budget would be one of my top legislative priorities. The government is making it harder for people to start a business, grow a business or buy a home. Regulatory agencies are no longer limited to enforcing the law, they are now starting to create laws through excessive regulations.

16. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?
I am a Pro-Life, Pro-Family Conservative who passionately supports policies that promote the family. I believe that human life is a sacred gift and that life begins at conception. As a father of three married children and grandfather of four, I find abortion abhorrent. The only instance in which abortion should be remotely considered is in the event the life of the mother is in critical danger. I have been endorsed by Nebraska Right to Life and will fight for the issues that matter most to Nebraskans in Washington, D.C.
13. People should be able to vote without photo identification.

18. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. He has eternally existed in three personalities: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. The Bible is God’s Word to us. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth. God's presence is seen everywhere we look in nature so that men are without excuse. People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin." This attitude separates people from God. All people fall short of the perfection that God demands to live eternally. But, if we are born again by believing in Jesus Christ as our Savior, by grace we have eternal life.
