They established a Republic because it is the best form of government; proven throughout history. They believed that no one man should have more power than the people he is supposed to govern. That rulers should be able to be held accountable to those under his rule. They made a Constitution to keep government under control, and secure rights, because governments have a habit of grabbing for to much power and trampling rights.
16. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.
Term Limits - I believe that members of Congress should be limited to two terms, and all benefits be terminated upon exit of office. That they should live and work under the laws they created. Congressional Pay - Congressional pay should be equal to that of the median income of the American worker, and not $120,000+. National Debt - We need to get spending under control before the debt collapses under its own weight and drags America into economic collapse which will threaten the jobs, education, property, and rights of the American citizenry.
17. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?
Abortion should be allowed in cases of Rape, Incest, and when the Mother's Life is in Danger. Abortion should not be sponsored or funded, in any way, by any government entity using taxpayer dollars.
