15. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

I oppose the use of abortion for birth control, and would oppose allowing any "social program" in public schools promoting or providing abortion services to minors. The only extenuating circumstance I could see making an abortion justified would be if in the opinion of a qualified doctor, a pregnancy is unsustainable.

16. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God, Constitution, Supreme Court, Congress. None of the others have any authority whatsoever.

17. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was raised a Baptist but as an adult have fallen away from a close relationship with any church because I have questions no church can answer; I hope some day soon to have those questions answered in Heaven, however. The rise of televangelists and mega-churches further alienated me because of their greed for money and power. God does not need great edifices; as His son said, whenever two or more are gathered in His name, there He is. I nonetheless consider myself to have a close relationship with my Creator; I speak to Him through silent prayer often -- as Jesus said, "in my closet." I have tried to live my life as a good and honest man, although there have certainly been times I've fallen short of that ideal. I have sided often with religious conservatives on key political issues from my perspective as a editorialist, but I have also been extremely critical of them as well, when I have felt it was justified.
