QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I have authored several Wisconsin state laws to eliminate funding for abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, including through Title X.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Abortion advocates have attempted to scare and mislead the public into misunderstanding several common medical procedures. Reasonable medical efforts to preserve both the life of the mother and her unborn child, miscarriages, removal of stillborn children, ectopic, anembryonic and molar pregnancies, and early induction and medical procedures that have the undesired result of the death of a child are NOT abortions, by common sense or in the law, and I support clarifications to that effect.

Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?

I am proud to be the only candidate in this race with a strong pro-life record and the sole endorsement of Pro-Life Wisconsin, and I am proud to have been named Legislator of the Year by both Pro-Life Wisconsin and Wisconsin Family Council for my efforts to protect innocent life, eliminate abortion subsidies and support crisis pregnancy centers. There remains much to do at the Federal level to eliminate taxpayer subsidies for abortion providers, protect the Hyde Rule and reinstate the Mexico City Policy, as well as look at reinstituting a variety of other legislative restrictions put on hold prior to the Dobbs decision. The government must protect innocent human life, and I am honored to be the candidate in this race prepared to meet that responsibility.

ECONOMY

What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?

Reducing government spending, and cutting and outright eliminating a variety of taxes that hit family budgets hard, increase prices, and discourage investment-I've authored several such laws. I support reversing the massive IRS bureaucracy expansion.

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Strongly Agree

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

I have authored legislation at the state level with Rep. Armstrong to prohibit ESG in government contracting and grant programs.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It's a misunderstanding of Thomas Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptist Association, and is not present in the U.S. Constitution. Government should not encroach upon the free exercise of religion (as it unfortunately did during COVID in many places). Laws are moral judgements, from the criminal justice system to the tax code, and our religious values should influence our morality as a Republic.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

I have authored several bills to protect individual conscience rights and religious entities from outrageous government mandates.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None. I have authored legislation to prohibit discrimination by any of these entities based on vaccination status and have been recognized by Wisconsin United for Freedom for these efforts.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

No one option fits. Obamacare should be abolished, and the health insurance market should be reformed while maintaining protections for people with pre-existing conditions. Wisconsin’s former high-risk insurance pool (HIRSP) was recognized as a model program nationally and should be considered for replication.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

I have authored multiple pieces of legislation recognizing and defending against China's status as a dangerous foreign adversary.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Israel not only shares our democratic ideals and security interests in the face of extremist existential threats to our values and survival, they have stood by us and been viciously and repeatedly targeted by bad actors in the international community while promoting peace and stability in a critical region, all while peacefully making possible pilgrimages to the Holy Land for spiritual renewal.

What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?

Abysmal leadership on the international stage by the Biden administration, woke policies, and incompetence in keeping promises made to our servicemen and women. Discharges as a result of Biden's forced vaccination policy are an outrageous illustration of the lack of respect that the modern Democrat party has for those who enlist.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

The U.S. needs to build the wall, give more enforcement tools and funding to border patrol and law enforcement, re-establish the Remain in Mexico policy and much more.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Those who have been properly vetted, fit existing legal criteria, and follow all current laws and legal processes to do so.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

I am a proud supporter of school choice to the fullest extent possible.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

Yes, I have taken this position publicly on many occasions.

VALUES

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Jesus is my Lord and Savior. My Christian (Roman Catholic) faith and Judeo-Christian values are the foundation for my political involvement.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

I am proud to be the author of several bills (vetoed by Democrat Governor Tony Evers) to prohibit CRT government indoctrination and any curriculum which asserts superiority or inferiority on the basis of race or gender.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Disagree

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Nuclear power.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To protect our God-given rights and liberties, provide for the common defense, and exercise fiscal responsibility while following the rule of law.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

I am strongly opposed to the 'Defund the Police' movement and am proud to have the sole endorsement of the Wisconsin Professional Police Association.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Liberal prosecutors routinely refuse to enforce gun laws against those who use them to commit crimes- that needs to be the focus for protecting public safety. I am proud to be the only candidate in this race with an A rating from the Gun Owners of America, along with a lifetime A rating from the NRA.
