Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

None.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Law enforcement and intelligence agencies are currently monitoring entry into our country and the activity of suspected terrorists within our borders. However, they are restricted from looking at certain indicators that may help to identify terroristic threats because they are viewed as discriminatory against people from a different culture. The safety of our citizens should be our paramount concern. Political correctness should never be a priority over our own national security.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The preservation of freedom, including religious liberty, is the foundation of the framer's work. The government structure was designed to be limited and balanced for the protection of the citizens, so that no one person could seize the power necessary to take away that freedom. William Penn's "Holy Experiment" was a blueprint for a society able to worship freely without the threat of punishment or oversight from the government.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

As a lifelong Christian who openly professes my faith, I have grown closer to God over the years through my time in the word, in prayer, and in fellowship with brothers and sisters of the Lord. I am more convinced than ever that our nation is starving for a spiritual connection. A way to understand the compassion of Christ and separation from sin. I pray daily for our leaders in the church and the government and have spent time trying to have both institutions work more closely together, like they did when our country was founded. I have hope for our nation because of my faith, and I will work hard to bring our society back to the Christian values that preserve and strengthen our families and communities.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

As a Pennsylvania State Senator, I am rated as the most conservative Senator in the state by the national rating organizations. As the Chair of the Pro-Life Caucus and formerly the Pro-Family Caucus, I have a very solid record of not only voting for social and fiscal conservative issues, but leading on them. (American Conservative Union - 96%, Americans For Prosperity - 100%, A Rating from the NRA.)

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

There are other models for care that have not been encouraged by the federal government. The social insurance model of having an access card, simply does not work. Too many people cannot find a doctor who will accept that program's payment and end up in an Emergency Room for regular medical attention. I have been working with clinic directors in PA, who are paid a flat rate and provide primary care for hundreds of patients, saving them from catastrophic health events and giving them a better quality of life. And, it's less expensive than the big government programs. There are other models that can work, as well. We need to be patient centered and redesign the system, I have seen it work.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

The government should take as little money as possible from the individuals and job creators they represent, therefore allowing them to spend their money, as they see fit. They should also never establish regulations that are beyond the very minimum of what is necessary to protect our society. In other words, government should get out of the way.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

The recent changes should be made permanent and any other savings that could be garnered for the public, should be implemented.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Although the current unemployment rate is very good, making it better and preventing it from getting back to where it was over the past recession should be achievable. Lowering taxes and cutting regulations helps job creators, and implementing a work search requirement for able bodied people on welfare would put some folks into the workforce and provide the opportunity for them to earn a living and provide a better life for their families.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

At some point the government is going to have to take general fund money and replenish Social Security. The age of recipients is also going to have to be increased for younger people starting their working lives.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

My experience in local and state government along with my business experience and active service with many faith based and nonprofit organizations gives me a very comprehensive understanding of how people live, what challenges they face, and what the proper role of government should be in addressing those concerns. I have been tested in the state legislature and never waivered from my conservative principles. I understand how a legislature works and what it takes to move the ball forward and achieve success. We are facing dangerous times in this country, and we need people who can make a real difference in the United States Congress.
