What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Our nation is founded on the idea that we have a Creator who created us in his own image , so we are all equal. The basis of our society is self-governance, virtue, and a strong family structure. However, the limitations our our human nature requires a system of strong checks and balances. The system of carefully defined, separated and limited powers in the Constitution help to ensure Americans can realize life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My Christian faith and the values I was raised with impact all areas of my life, including my approach and decision-making as a legislator. We are called to be "salt of the earth" and the "light of the world". Each day I strive to serve others and to abide by the Golden Rule, treating others as I wish to be treated.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Very Conservative

Additional comment from candidate:

I am running for Congress to make certain that anybody who works hard and plays by the rules can achieve the American Dream. Recognized as a thoughtful problem-solver by our community, I have never backed down from a fight to stand up for our beliefs. Americans must be put back in the driver’s seat of our economy by making sure it works for everybody, not just a privileged few. We must change the culture in Washington by staying focused on solutions without ever losing sight of our principles and our values. In our community, I surrounded himself with skilled men and women to build a local construction company. Our team grew to over 150 hardworking people, who labored daily against red tape and government overreach. That experience shaped my belief that government is best which governs least. My record is strongly pro-life and pro-Second Amendment, earning me a 100% rating from the American Conservative Union Foundation.
