15. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
The Founders were careful to define, separate and limit power through the Constitution, because they were very concerned that a new government in America would re-create the centralized power of the monarchy they had fought to be free from. The Founders believed that competition for power, within the three branches of government, would serve as a check and balance to the ambition for power of those individuals in each branch of government.
16. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.
1. Reducing the national debt is my highest priority, because our economic and national security depend on it. Our position in the world is weak, because our government has created so much debt. When the economy rebounds, and interest rates begin to rise, it will be impossible for the government to make debt payments at increased interest rates. 2. Repealing burdensome regulations, like Obamacare, is another top priority for me. Mandates like Obamacare are slowing our economy, and stifling job growth. Nearly 75% of new jobs that have been added to the economy are part time, because the burdens of Obamacare make it difficult for small business to high full-time employees. 3. My third priority is reducing the authority of the Federal Government to it's Constitutionally granted role. We must return power and responsibility to state governments.
17. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?
Only, in the very limited cases, where it will save the life of the mother. Doctors must make every effort to save both the life of the mother AND the unborn child, before such a drastic decision might be reached.
18. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.
God, Constitution, Voters, Congress/Supreme Court
19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I believe this country and the Constitution are great because they recognize the natural rights of all, that come from God, not man.
