The Bible states that we are born sinners who have no good in and of ourselves. Only after we commit ourselves to Christ's redemptive gift of His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins do we have any good in us. Even after salvation, we battle the old nature of sinfulness. Because of the inborn fallen nature, we must put in checks and balances, limit power and adhere to the Constitution and its system of limited government. Without those protections,problems result.

God, Constitution, Voters, Congress and the Supreme Court. We the people, set up the Constitution but lately our Courts including the Supreme Court have allowed by practice even non-citizens to vote. I prefer the People rather than the voters.
20. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?
No, every life is precious from conception and an innocent life, even under the extreme circumstances of rape, shouldn't be punished for the sins of the father. I believe in life, from conception until final natural death.
21. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe that man is basically born in sin. He cannot save himself. His salvation is dependent on acceptance of Christ's self sacrifice on the cross as payment for our sins. I recognized myself as a sinner at the age of 9. My Godly parents, helped me personally accept Christ as my personal savior. I believe that we must follow the Biblical pattern for life. On my desk in Lansing, I have the plaque that says, "Never confuse the will of the majority, with the will of God" My lifes verse is, Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not to thine own understanding, in all thy ways acknowledge him and He will direct thy paths." I am a very strong social and fiscal conservative. I will not compromise on Biblical truths and my foundation is to reprioritize spending not increase taxes.
