QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortion should be illegal in every instance except to save the life of the mother or in the case of rape/incest when a police report has been made and prosecution has been agreed to.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Tax forms should be made easier and everyone should pay their fair share for necessary government functions but deep cuts should be made to taxes to eliminate funding for wasteful programs or free handouts.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
There is a lot of waste, fraud and abuse in the bureaucracy that should be eliminated and I am absolutely opposed to any entitlement programs designed to re-distribute wealth.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
The state should provide great K-12 education for every child in Missouri and partial grants should be available to students from very low-income families, but those students should have to work to pay the balance of their tuition, like I did.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
No law should infringe on a person's closely held religious beliefs.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
None. Period.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
None. Employers can offer free testing programs to those who don't wish to be vaccinated.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Secure our borders and fully fund law enforcement, the Defense Department, and our intelligence agencies.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
Israel is a sovereign nation and an important US ally.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
As a 17-year veteran of law enforcement who worked 5-years undercover on drug investigations that very often led back to our southern border, I am the only candidate in my race who arrested and deported dangerous criminals who were in our country committing crimes.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Anyone willing to submit to the required process and vetting with annual limits to reduce any strain on our economy.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Disagree
Public money should be used to fund public education.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
This is the foundational basis for our democracy.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Where does it end?
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
Marriage is a religious institution that should be left to individual denominations to perform in accordance with their beliefs. Government should only regulate civil unions.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
CRT is hogwash. We should never teach propoganda in our schools.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe in God the creator of the universe and in Jesus, His only begotten Son.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
In a democracy, it should be easier to vote and harder to cheat.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
More State oversight of partisan election authorities.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes. But currently, the biggest threat comes from anti-white racist groups promoting violence against the police.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Absolutely not.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
Neither. I believe our environmental laws have been forcing manufacturing jobs oversees to countries with weak environmental laws. What we need are sensible environmental laws in our country along with a ban on imports from countries that don't enforce those same laws. President Trump proved that America benefits when we are tough on regulating foreign imports.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
As long as it doesn't pollute the water supply or the diminish the value of neighboring property.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To protect the freedoms of its citizens and provide necessary functions that wouldn't otherwise be provided for, like a national defense and an interstate highway system.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
I have done over 100 interviews on nationally broadcast programs on Fox News, Newsmax, CNN and other outlets as well as hundreds more in local media so, too many to list.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I have been married for 28 years and have 3 beautiful daughters. I've lived in my Senate District continuously for 45 years. I have served my community as a volunteer firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician, 911 Dispatcher, Police Officer, City Administrator, Elected Official and community volunteer continuously since I was 18 years old. I love my county and the people in it.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
As a spokesman for the Fraternal Order of Police for the past 11 years, I have fought for fair treatment of cops every day.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
I'm all for more mental health services but it shouldn't come from already under-funded law enforcement agencies.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Almost none. Felons and the mentally ill should be restricted from gun ownership and the prosecutors who complain that we need more gun laws should be forced to prosecute armed felons and people who possess stolen or illegal firearms. We got plenty of gun laws but not enough prosecutions of the small number of bad actors.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
They should be able to sue the people who use the firearm for unlawful violence.
