QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Neutral

So many of these institution provide other important care to those who have no where else to go. I would like to have a better way of educating women about birth control, elective surgeries, and mental health. I think these desisions should be between a doctor and a patient.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

When the life of the mother or child is at risk. As a country we no longer respect the life of an unborn child. Media makes light of a very dark and complicated issue. While I firmly believe that most abortions are child sacrificing to the idols of career, body, or prosperity, I do not want to give the control over to a heartless govenment. Jesus did nothing to change the laws in his day, instead, He chose to change the hearts of people. "Save" the mother and you will save the child.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Neutral

I do not want to give the control over to a heartless govenment. Jesus did nothing to change the laws in his day, instead, He chose to change the hearts of people. "Save" the mother and you will save the child.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Neutral

I think this should be a decision made with a doctor and patient. I am not a doctor or biologist so I don't think I have the autority to make these decisions.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Agree

I do not advocate breaking laws no mater how poorly constructed.

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Raising the minimum wage causes a ripple effect that leads to inflation. As the cost of labor goes up, the cost of production rises. Money spent on employee taxes is not recovered so product prices raise faster than the change of wages.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Capitalism is good, crony capitalism is bad. Fix those laws.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

1. Eliminate the Federal Department od Education and bring the resorces home to the counties. 2. Return the state to a $0 base budget. (All departments should turn in a budget showing the need/purpose of the all money requested each year.) 3. Cap all pay raises for elected officials. These were inteded to be volunteer position with the officials going home to their "real" jobs when the session was over.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

While the founders of this country were mostly Christian, they witnessed what happens when any single religion becomes the ruling power. While our counries rule of law was taken from the ten commandments, our founding father chose to allow people of any religion to practice within our borders. If you give any religion the power to change the law, you risk the posibility of it being another's religion who controls the govenment.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

Private business is private. Government entities are not private and should not take any religious stand. The code of law which claims all (hu)mans are equal should be enforced.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C/D While I would like to get the government completely out of healthcare, we do need a safety net for those who are in great need. I would rather the private charities handle the needs of the indigent, there should be some supervision to see that everyone in need is helped.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

This is not a proper function of government. I would like the medical industry to handle the data to help share information and costs.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

While I don't believe the government should ban trade between the USA and other countries, I think Americans should see what their dollars are funding in other countries.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

I believe we should support the people of the nation of Israel but not always it's govenment.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

I believe in the rule of law. I think our imagration laws are in shambles and need redress so we would not need sanctuary cities. People flee from many places in the world for various reasons. I would like to redirect our military forces to the process of documenting people coming into our country, not to turn them away but to see that they are documented and accounted for.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Neutral

I think our entire education system need to be redressed. The costs have increased at a far, far greater rate than inflation.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Agree

The economy has made it nearly impossible for parents to be as involved in the education and raising of their children necessary. The public school system has become a babysitter while the parents struggle to pay their bills. While there are some parents who abuse their parental rights, (and we need to be aware), most parents just want their children educated. They do not want the schools to form their children's moral values.

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

Once a person is old enough to pay thier way in the world, (no longer living at home) they should have all the rights of an adult and to make those choices.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Agree

While I believe marriage is God-Ordained, I don't have an issue with civil unions. Marriage is a religious covenant. If your religion allows it, It is not the duty of government to get involved.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Neutral

I don't believe you can legislate morality.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a biblical Christ follower. While I try to follow God's commandment to love God and love others, I often fail. I am also a Libertarian who belives our Government is bloated and abusive.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

At this stage of technology, there is no reason someone would not have a form of ID. It is required for everything from going to the doctor to walking down the street.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

If we were to go down that road, we would have to give the country back to the Native Americans and most of the south west to Mexico. I would much rather spend the time, money, and energy fighting the current countries that allow slavery and racism.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Neutral

I would advocate for gender neutral restrooms in all public buildings. I think it should be left to the sorority to chose whether or not to have a male join. I firmly oppose allowing men to compete in women's sports and using the locker rooms. I would leave it up to a private women's shelter to decide whether or not to allow a biological male, government run shelters should not be given the choice. Prisons should not be given the choice.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Disagree

The world had gone through cycle of hot and cold for centuries. The USA is one of the least offenders of carbon emmissions. I do support taking care of our lands through good stewardship.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

If we are going to force everyone away from coal and gas, we need to consider nuclear. The byproducts of solar and wind are as bad as coal and gas. Neither wind or solar have proved to be consistant enough to eliminate coal and gas.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Choose not to answer

I am a Libertarian. I am conservitive in some issues and liberal in others. I believe in less government control in all aspects of our lives.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

no

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

no

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

To seek justice. I lean highly toward a restorative justice system and less use of prisons.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Disagree

I think parents should take more responsibility for their children. This is not a governmental duty outlined in the constitution.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

No religious laws should be incorporated in the legal framework beyond our founding documents.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I would advocate for more education and less restriction. The right to defend oneself is a basic human right and the government has no right to restict it.
