What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Having suffered under the tyranny of the British government the founders were leery of authority. They did not want the federal government to become oppressive. Hence they carefully attempted to define the limits of power. The intent of the constitution was to limit the role of government. The founders recognized that people prospered when allowed to pursue their own interests and not be unnecessarily subject to political authority.

I have been a libertarian candidate several times. The libertarian positions do not fall into the traditional conservative/liberal spectrum. We believe in less government across the board, and that includes economic issues as well as social issues.

Additional comment from candidate:
Libertarians believe in Freedom. Freedom is the absence of force or coercion. Government by definition invokes force. Therefore we believe in limited government. The proper role of government is to protect our rights. That is to keep us safe from thugs and to defend us from foreign invaders. Instead today our government violates our rights by controlling our personal behavior, our income and our economic activity. We have a 20 trillion dollar debt. Government programs are expensive, inefficient and ineffective. Burdensome regulations smother economic vitality and politicians feel obligated to control our personal behavior. We have crony capitalism, which contributes to income inequality. All these things are outside the scope of a proper government. If government could solve our problems they would have all been solved by now.
