14. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.

(1) Limiting the Federal government to powers granted to it by the U.S. Constitution and preventing its overreach. This would require severely limiting funding for programs that involve unconstitutional overreach by the Federal government and limiting regulatory restrictions on the public and business. (2) Protecting citizens rights given to them in the Constitution--particularly all those rights both for citizens and states that have been enunciated in the Bill of Rights, since those rights have been carelessly disregarded by recent administrations--and personal rights ( to property, privacy, freedom from unwarranted searches and seizures and incarceration without charge, as well as to firearms, freedom of speech and religion, etc.) have all been under attack in Washington. (3) Providing for a strong domestic defense, including strong borders (with gates for workers who register to work in the U.S.), but avoiding excessive and unnecessary foreign entanglements and subsidies.

15. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

Yes, to save the life of the mother. Also, in the case of incest and rape--provided that it is not a late term abortion. Late term abortions should only be allowed to save the life and health of the mother.

16. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

Our Creator (endows us with unalienable rights), Voters (have the right to establish a government to secure their unalienable rights), Constitution (highest law, establishes government structure), Congress (has the right to pass laws), Supreme Court

17. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was raised as a Presbyterian, my wife was an Episcopalian, so we compromised and joined a Congregational Church (now United Church of Christ) that we both were comfortable in. However, after the Congregational church merged, we subsequently attended a variety of churches. Our Children have variously attended Lutheran, Methodist, and Jewish nursery schools and our son attended an Episcopalian grade school. When my mother lived here we regularly attended a Methodist Church. I am a Christian and try to live a moral life so I will be unafraid when judgement day comes. I also feel that "virtue is its own reward" as it makes one happier on earth if one tries to lead a virtuous life. While I am not committed to any one denomination or church at this time., I am not an atheist, I just do not feel comfortable having any one denomination tell me what to believe and do.
