QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Although like most libertarians I ardently support abortion rights and reproductive rights, libertarians believe that funds from federal, state, and local governments should only be used for the three legitimate government functions: courts, police, and national defense. Funding abortions is definitely not a legitimate state purpose.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I'm pro-choice, so I support abortion rights until fetal viability. As an Ayn Rand Objectivist, I support a secular, scientific, and rational morality. Almost all anti-abortion arguments stem from a religiously-based morality.

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Strongly Disagree

Libertarians believe in wealth and income creation, not wealth and income "distribution" or "redistribution." An economic rising tide lifts all boats. Libertarian free market policies would result in full production and therefore full-employment.

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

The US federal governmental debt today is over $30,000,000,000,000. There are also federal unfunded liabilities, consisting mostly of so-called "entitlements" such as Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, of over $100 trillion. And these figures don't include state, local, and municipal governmental debts. Only massive cuts in the size and scope of government can prevent the US from becoming a modern-day Venezuela. Washington should immediately begin operating in a government-shutdown mode.

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

All taxes should be greatly reduced immediately and completely eliminated eventually. All individuals should be allowed to keep all of the fruits of their labor; consequently, all taxation is theft.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Agree

Yes it is, although we should also note that many US churches, synagogues, and mosques today are just as "woke" as US college campuses. That is, these institutions believe in the critical theory conviction that oppression/exploitation along race, class, and gender lines is the distinguishing characteristic of the US, both currently and historically. Critical theory today emanates from both the Ivory Tower and the pulpit. Unfortunately, cancel culture occurs in many US religious institutions.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

The right to trade includes the right not to trade. Nobody and no private business should be forced by any level of government to trade and provide services in violation of their moral beliefs. If necessary, civil rights jurisprudence and "non-discrimination" law should be amended to defend the inalienable right to trade or not to trade.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

Complete separation of church/temple/mosque and state.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None, whatsoever! All vaccinations and medications should be individual and familial decisions.

iVoterGuide Notes:

"No level of government nor any government/public school should be allowed to require vaccinations, but private employers and private schools should be allowed to require vaccinations. Finally, note that most libertarians oppose private vaccine requirements, and all libertarians oppose compulsory education laws."
Staff Note: This revised survey response was submitted by the candidate after the survey deadline was reached and was not considered during panel evaluations.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Disagree

Israel today is a Jewish Liberia. Had the US implemented an open border policy before, during, and after World War II, many Jewish refugees then would have emigrated to the US, instead of Israel. The current Arab-Israeli situation would be vastly improved if the US today simply opened its borders to all Israelis and Arab-Palestinians who wished to leave the Middle East region. Finally, libertarians oppose all foreign military and economic aid, including aid to Israel, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, et al.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Disagree

The US should end its current trade war with China. Libertarians believe that foreign policy should be based primarily on complete free trade, sound money (no currency manipulation between the US dollar and foreign currencies), and high levels of legal immigration and emigration. Finally, libertarians believe in the foreign policy enunciated by Thomas Jefferson in his 1801 inaugural address: "peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations—entangling alliances with none."

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

The US should stop intervening in the internal affairs of all other nations, including Islamic countries. The US was attacked on 9-11 not for who we are, but for what we did. In his fatwa against the West on 23 August, 1996 and 23 February, 1998, Osama bin Laden listed three grievances: 1) US troops stationed in Saudi Arabia; 2) US and western sanctions against Iraq, which resulted in over half a million Iraqi deaths; and 3) US economic and military support for Israel. Note that bin Laden never mentioned Islamic opposition to American freedom and democracy, or western sex, drugs and rock and roll, or baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet. Instead, bin Laden cited specific western and US foreign interventionism. Although he was a bloodthirsty war criminal, deserving of complete contempt, the record shows that bin Laden was anti-Washington, not anti-American.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Neutral

Most libertarians believe that the US should greatly increase the legal level of immigration. This is the single best way to "secure the border." In the early 1950s, the US significantly increased legal immigration. By the late 1950s, US border apprehensions had fallen by 90 percent. We should repeat that policy today.

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Neutral

Libertarians oppose almost all state and federal funding. Also, most libertarians believe in the American Dream and believe that immigrants are the best examples of it. Most immigrants to the US become economically successful within one generation. Successful immigrants in the US furnish the best argument against the tenets of Critical Theory, generally, and Critical Race Theory, specifically.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Most libertarians fervently believe in two things that enables them to support much, much more legal immigration: 1) the American Dream; and 2) that the US is not a racist nation. For example, most Asian Americans become very successful in the US in just one generation after immigrating. The US should allow anyone with a job to immigrate and deny almost all government benefits to immigrants for at least 25 years.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

Most libertarians oppose all governmental efforts to classify and categorize Americans on the basis of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc., and therefore oppose governmental "non-discrimination" legislation and jurisprudence. On the other hand, as strong individualists, libertarians ardently believe in "Live and Let Live" with respect to sexual orientation and gender identity. Finally, as an Ayn Rand Objectivist, I don't believe that LBGTQ persons are "going to Hell."

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Libertarians believe that the best antidote to CRT is to have Americans voluntarily refuse to furnish the government and "woke" private businesses with their racial and ethnic information. Not only will this end CRT, it will also end, within one generation, affirmative action, reparations, and all other attempts to "right historical wrongs" and "level the racial/ethnic playing field." Today, most Americans are maritally exogamous; within a few generations almost all Americans will be mixed race.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I'm an Ayn Rand Objectivist. Because humans are not inherently evil, humans deserve and require freedom to prosper, flourish, and pursue earthly happiness. Objectivists choose a creative producer like John Galt, not Mother Theresa, as their moral ideal.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

Unlike most libertarians, I don't oppose simple prerequisites, like furnishing a photo ID, as a requirement for voting in political elections. For example, recent polls suggest that only about a third of American citizens can pass a US citizenship test. Citizenship tests consist of 8th-grade level questions. [Examples of citizenship tests can easily be found online.] I don't oppose a photo ID requirement, or even a passing score on a citizenship test, as a prerequisite for voting in elections.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

All campaign finance laws, at the federal, state, and local level, should be repealed. Corporations are individuals and money is speech. Campaign finance laws are gross violations of the First Amendment. If American voters elect reprehensible politicians, then the fault lies with the voters, not with the campaign money spent by disreputable candidates.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Libertarians oppose all governmental efforts to classify and categorize Americans on the basis of race, class, gender, sexual identity, etc. Contrary to popular opinion, it's not illegal to decline to furnish one's racial and ethnic information and data on any government or private application or form. Libertarians support private efforts to encourage Americans to not supply the government and private businesses with their racial and ethnic data.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No, not at all. Instead, identity politics and racial/ethnic "balkanization" could become a threat to US domestic security in the near future. The only antidote to identity politics and racial/ethnic balkanization is for Americans to voluntary refuse to identify along racial and ethnic lines. As strong individualists, libertarians fervently support this voluntary development.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

Although climate change is a reality, climate change is not a "problem" in an unbridled, unfettered capitalist economy. Unfortunately, the US does not have a free market economy today. Also, although climate change might cause an increase in human deaths, we should note that cold weather causes far more annual deaths than does global warming. Also, socialism has killed far more persons than has climate change. Therefore, a socialistic Green New Deal should be vehemently opposed.

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

I believe that the federal government should be no more than one percent of its current size; that is, the US government today should spend no more than about $60 billion annually, with all of its revenue derived from voluntary contributions and lotteries. For this reason, I consider myself "very conservative" although I'm completely secular and non-religious.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

N/A

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

Libertarians believe that today the concept and definition of "sexual misconduct" has been greatly expanded by Critical Gender Theorists, the #MeToo movement, and college Title IX offices. For example, critical gender theorists argue that there is a rape epidemic on US college campuses today even though the US rape rate has fallen by more than 50 percent since the 1990s, and although the definition of rape and sexual assault was expanded in 2012. Americans label more things "racist" and "sexual misconduct" today than before, even though racial integration and gender relations have greatly improved in the US during the last 50 years. If elected, I'll introduce legislation to more specifically define "sexual harassment," "sexual assault," and "inappropriate sexual conduct."

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I’m running for Congress to advocate the philosphic ideas of Ayn Rand and her philosophy of Objectivism and the economic views of Ludwig von Mises and the Austrian School of economics. Bad philosophic and economic ideas have led America to our current philosophic, cultural, and financial crises. Only the sound views of Rand and of Mises and the Austrian School can make America great again. The US needs immediate massive cuts in spending and a severe reduction in the size and scope of government.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Disagree

Government officials, including police officers, should possess no power not enjoyed by any other US citizen. Consequently, libertarians oppose qualified immunity.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Neutral

Libertarians believe that mental health and community programs should be privately funded. All funds for police departments should be used only to fight crimes with victims. All laws against victimless crimes should be repealed. Victimless "crimes" include drug use, gambling, and sex work.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Libertarians are Second Amendment fundamentalists. We favor repealing all laws, at the federal, state, and local level, that infringe on "the right of the people to keep and bear arms."

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

Some cliches are true: "Guns don't kill people, people do." Libertarians would completely repeal any and all current legislation that attempts to hold firearms dealers and gun manufacturers responsible, in any way, for gun violence. Finally, the US murder rate has fallen by 50 percent during the last half-century, during the same time that the number of privately-held firearms has doubled.
