Abortion takes a human life. It should not be “elective”.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Life is precious at all stages. Our founding fathers understood this as they declared in the Declaration of Independence “... they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It means that there should not be a religion established by the state nor should the state coerce any religious practice. However, individuals, including public officials, retain religious expression rights even in public spaces. For example, every session of the Ohio House and Ohio Senate begins with a prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Freedom of religion is an important tenant of the foundation of our nation. If the government forces someone to do something against their moral and/or religious beliefs then that freedom is infringed.


NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

The CCP has grown their nuclear arsenal, developed advanced missile systems, including hypersonic weapons, and expanded their naval forces so now they have more navy ships than any other country. They are regularly engaged in cyber espionage targeting our defense contractors, critical infrastructure and even our universities. We need to take this threat seriously.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

The United States’ relationship with Israel is vital because Israel is our strongest democratic ally in a volatile region and shares our commitment to freedom, the rule of law, and free markets; this partnership strengthens American national security. Standing firmly with Israel also sends a clear message to adversaries that America stands by its democratic allies. I am proud to have jointly sponsored SR 214 with Senator Brenner to support Israel and condemn the October 7th 2023 Hamas’ attacks.


HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but they MUST be made more efficient and be limited to ONLY those who truly need them. For example able bodied childless adults (Group 8 population) should not have been included in Medicaid expansion. Medicaid should be reserved for those for which it was originally intended: low income families with children, disabled individuals, low income elderly, and the blind.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Free markets function best. Government interference in business, with respect to the minimum wage, will just eventually result in higher prices of goods and services being passed onto the consumer.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Yes! One of the reasons that our country is so strong is our free enterprise system and private property rights which fuels ingenuity and motivates people to succeed.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

As the Treasurer of State I will work hard, as I have in the legislature and during my time on City Council, to eliminate any government waste in the Treasury. I will make sure that we are not overstaffed nor waste money purchasing any unnecessary items. I will also serve in an advisory capacity to the Senate President, Speaker of the House and Governor when it comes to reducing spending in the Operating Budget.


IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Sanctuary cities undermine the rule of law by refusing to cooperate with ICE. The United States is a nation of immigrants, but we are also a nation of law and order. To have a civilized society, laws must be respected, and to keep our citizens safe, we need to support Immigration and Customs Enforcement. I sponsored Senate Bill 172, which prohibits public officials from interfering with the activities of ICE and specifies that illegal immigrants are not privileged from arrest.


EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

The number one goal of the criminal justice system should be to keep our communities safe. To accomplish this goal, they need to identify, apprehend and appropriately sentence criminals. Preventing recidivism, through addiction recovery, job training, and counseling is also important to ensuring that crime rates remain low as possible.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

The government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation. This certainly includes on the internet and dark web where predators, posing as someone else, will take advantage of unsuspecting minors.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The restrictions in place are sufficient - we certainly don’t need any more and we should look at eliminating restrictions that are too cumbersome.

Biological males typically have physical advantages over biological females: They have higher bone density, larger lung capacity and more muscle mass. This can pose a danger for females engaged in sports with males. It also is an invasion of privacy if biological males are allowed to use the same locker rooms, bathrooms etc.

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

We should all do our part to be responsible and keep our water and air clean. We only have one planet. We also need to balance environmental concern with affordability. The price tag for products made with zero emissions will hurt the economically disadvantaged the most.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

As a mechanical engineer who worked in the Power Generation Industry, I believe we need a diverse portfolio of energy sources. Ohio is blessed with an abundance of natural gas and should also use nuclear, clean coal, and renewables as appropriate
