What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Greed, sin and the faults of man caused the settlers to leave Europe and form a new country. The Founders realized man"s faults and created the only constitution of its kind. The Founders obligation was to their Creator to create a government of checks and balances that would give what mankind was seeking: freedom, prosperity and peace.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Upon returning from the military and with the luck of being in our church men's group I realized that as a husband and father I couldn't do it alone. I needed to learn my christian faith. Seven children later, a business and working politics first hand, I've realized I will always be learning my faith...knowing that there is a God and God's truths are my guide.
Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?
Very Conservative
Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.
I stood up to my own party's leadership in the Ohio House on many occasions, angering the establishment in the process. I fought to stop tax hikes that other so-called "conservatives", including my opponent, supported. Faith2Action named me "Pro-Life MVP" and Warren Co. Right To Life named me a "Pro-Life Hero" because I fought my own leadership to save the Heartbeat Bill.  I fought Republican leadership to repeal Common Core which is why I'm personally endorsed by Heidi Huber, Ohio's point person on fighting Common Core. I fought Gov John Kasich's expansion of Obamacare and I'm endorsed by the Conservative Republican Leadership Committee.  Maybe it's because I was a Navy SEAL, but I have fought to the mat for conservative values & that's why I'm endorsed by so many of Ohio's conservative leaders.

Additional comment from candidate:
As a Navy SEAL I protected our freedom. In the Ohio House I protected your values. As your next senator I will do both.
