- “In the 2024 election, a yes vote on CI-128 will keep the government out of our personal lives. This is an exciting opportunity to secure our rights for generations to come. Now is the time to ensure power remains in the hands of the people of Montana, so everyone has the freedom to prevent, continue, or end a pregnancy should they choose. Politicians have no business controlling our bodies and our futures. We know that Montanans will show up for their right to control their own bodies, access the health care they need, and secure their right to abortion.” - Montanans Securing Reproductive Rights
-
“Anti-abortion extremists have tried to interfere in Montanans’ personal health care choices again and again. That’s totally unacceptable — Montanans deserve to make their own decisions about reproductive care, not have politicians decide for them. The Fairness Project is proud and excited to be supporting Montanans Securing Reproductive Rights in their campaign to pass CI-128, especially at a time when abortion rights are under attack. With 2024 shaping up to be the biggest year ever for abortion on the ballot, it is critical that Montanans can make their voices heard on this issue.” - Kelly Hall, Executive Director, The Fairness Project
-
“Here in Montana, our rights are being targeted by extreme anti-abortion politicians who are trying every single trick in the book to rip away our freedom to make private medical decisions. With just over two months to gather the signatures, a fierce group of supporters and volunteers have shown us all that Montanans are ready to defend our reproductive rights.” - Martha Fuller, CEO, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Montana

“CI-128 would create a constitutional right to UNLIMITED ABORTION in Montana -- including partial-birth abortion or dismemberment abortion. A “healthcare professional” meaning a doctor, nurse, dentist, chiropractor, physical therapist, or paramedic, can approve abortion AT ANY STAGE OF PREGNANCY. Predators and sex traffickers will be protected when they force victims to obtain an abortion, and parents will not be entitled to notice or consent before their daughter obtains an abortion.
CI-128 is about more than abortion. The
broad language of CI-128 includes phrases
like “reproductive care,
” which arguably
creates a right for anyone--including
minors--to undergo radical, irreversible
gender reassignment surgery or hormone
intervention to alter the reproductive
system.

Montana Life Defense Fund
"CI-128 is being promoted simply as a protection for women’s rights, when in fact, this initiative seeks to enshrine legal authorization for the following:
- Late-term abortion of babies who will feel pain
- Abortion of babies who have been partially delivered
- Abortion by dismemberment of children growing in the womb
Moreover, this proposal would eliminate current parental notification requirements that apply when minors obtain an abortion. This would:
- Impose a culture of secrecy that would undermine families
- Expose underage mothers to exploitation
- Provide cover for those who would victimize underage women by committing abuse, human trafficking, and other crimes"
- Austin A. Vetter, Bishop of Helena, Jeffrey M. Fleming, Bishop of Great Falls-Billings, Michael W. Warfel, Bishop Emeritus of Great Falls-Billings
-
“Millions of dollars from California, Illinois, and other liberal states are pouring into Montana, to enshrine abortion up till the moment of birth into our state constitution, at taxpayer expense. This proposed constitutional amendment is called CI-128. If passed, this will prevent parents from knowing if their minor child is having an abortion or trying to change their gender, and will allow for statutory rapists, as well as sex traffickers, to take their victims for abortions. It will allow for painful, late-term and partial-birth abortions, and remove the right for women harmed during abortions to seek remedy for medical malpractice, and so much more!" - For Montana Families
