New Feature:
At iVoterGuide, we’re thrilled to announce a new feature available on our website. Now you can find a comprehensive list of elected officials who actually represent you!
On our home page you will notice a second gold button beneath the space where you enter your address. In addition to clicking “View My Voter Guide,” you now have the option to click “See Who Represents Me.” There you’ll find names, offices, photos, social media, and contact information for your elected officials. You’ll even find a link to their most recent ratings on iVoterGuide.
Typically, voter guides list only the candidates being covered in upcoming elections. But we see tremendous value in providing the most up-to-date list of your current elected officials—in addition to the great coverage you’ll get on the candidates before elections. Here’s why:
1. To make your voice heard: These are the offices you can contact to give your opinion on a piece of legislation, an upcoming vote, or a particular issue.
2. To stay informed: You’ll want to follow these officials throughout their terms so you can make the best decision on how to vote should they run again.
3. To recognize names and faces: It’s important to recognize your elected officials when you hear about them in ads or local media. You also may have chances to meet them in person—at a special event, town hall, or candidate forum.
4. To seek out their views: In election years, you can contact officials running for office and ask them to complete the iVoterGuide questionnaire.
5. To pray: Most importantly, we want to encourage you to pray for your elected officials by name.
Everyone using the "See Who Represents Me" feature should be able to view a list of their federal, statewide, and state representatives. These include the U.S. president; U.S. senators and representatives; state senators and representatives; and statewide elected officials, such as governor, lieutenant governor, and secretary of state (though state offices can vary). We’re using a data service to capture the information, so some voters (those in more populated zip codes) will have access to officials all the way down to the municipal level.
We’re so excited to add this new service—rarely found elsewhere—along with our top-notch voting information. We hope you’ll take advantage of this awesome new feature and make your voices heard!
