Executive Actions Quiz

I recall that when President Biden took office, he used executive orders to, “with the stroke of a pen,” reverse many of the policies put in place by the first Trump administration.  This included the “remain in Mexico” policy that had secured the border, canceling the Keystone Pipeline, rejoining the World Health Organization and the Paris Climate Accord, and orders advancing “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.”

I fully expected President Trump to reinstate those policies as soon as possible, but he has gone far beyond just reversing those policies.

In just two weeks, President Trump has issued over 300 executive orders and memoranda giving guidance to federal agency policies and officials.   I do not recall this volume or flurry of executive orders, so I wanted to revisit what I know.  Since we're concentrating on biblical and political training this year, I thought it would be a great time to learn together!

Are executive orders, memos, and proclamations considered “law?”  How have executive actions been used in the past?  Is this how the Constitution designed the executive branch to exert its authority?
