Early Christmas greetings to all in
the iVoterGuide family!
My prayer this season is for you to be filled with hope in the Prince of Peace, our Savior. He’s the reason we do what we do. The ultimate purpose of all our efforts at iVoterGuide is to keep the door open in this country to share the wonderful news of Jesus—a message that is beautifully expressed in the announcement of His birth:
“Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:10-11 (ESV)
Like the shepherds who received this good news from the angels, let’s kneel in awe before the baby lying in the manger. Then, just as they shared the angel’s message with their countrymen so many years ago, let’s share the same glorious message of hope our country desperately needs to be reminded of today . . . A Savior was born for us. He is the Messiah, the Lord.
The baby who was born to die and rise again is Lord of every nation—even when rulers try to thwart God’s purpose, like king Herod. This knowledge should fill us with hope, even when the news is discouraging and world events are distressing. He is in control!
“The hopes and fears of all the years are met in Thee tonight.”
The biblical definition of hope
is a confident expectation in God’s promises. I am filled with hope
as I look back on Christ’s first coming as a baby, which God promised from the
beginning of history. And we can rejoice with hope as we look forward to His promised
second coming as a conquering King who will bring justice, righteousness, and
peace to the world.
Until then, you and I have the honor of being faithful stewards of every blessing and every challenge God allows—and we will have many opportunities in 2024! But for this moment at Christmas, let’s pause and wonder at the God who, out of His great love, gave His only Son to rescue all who believe in Him from the domain of darkness and bring us into His kingdom (Colossians 1:13).
I love to sing the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah with the choir (included in the playlist below). One day we will all sing with the host of heaven, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.” (Revelation 19:6b)
Speaking of singing . . . we are already worshipping and thought that you might enjoy a Christmas playlist from our staff! May it remind you of the reason for the season and our great hope! Feel free to share it with others! (You might catch a glimpse of me playing Sleigh Ride with my handbell group!)
From all of us at iVoterGuide, Merry Christmas. We are incredibly thankful for your support and prayers this past year. May God bless you!
