QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

It is not the school's place to interfere with any kind of issue that should be handled between a child and their parents, including helping them with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy. Parents have the right to transparency and communication in all things from their child's school.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Mandating that teachers go against their moral or religious beliefs undermines individual freedom and sets a dangerous precedent for state control over personal thought and expression. A free society respects diversity of belief, especially in matters as personal as education and values. ALL updated curriculum should be readily available to view, and nothing should be kept secret from parents. Education should inform, not indoctinate.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

When individuals are free to own property and run businesses, they have the incentive to work hard, invest, and create value within our society. This not only drives personal success, but also leads to more choices, better products, and stronger communities. History shows that economies that protect these rights tend to be more prosperous, dynamic, and resilient.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

I believe publicly funded schools can be an incredible tool, but a truly free society should allow families the choice to educate their children through private options, and not be forced to rely on state run systems. Education thrives best when driven by voluntary exchange, competition, and innovation. I believe that College shouldn’t be publicly funded, because adults should be responsible for their own education choices, and we should encourage students to pursue trades when possible.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

Schools should stay focused on academics and leave sensitive issues like abortion and gender identity to families, not government-funded partnerships with outside providers. Using public education to promote particular medical or ideological perspectives risks overstepping the proper role of government and infringing on family and community values. Parental rights must always be respected, and families should seek outside guidance according to their own beliefs.

Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Agree

A strong, well rounded discipline of study is essential for student learning because it encourages critical thinking and personal responsibility. Education should empower students to explore knowledge freely, and should not limit their intellectual growth. We also need to let kids be kids, at times, and should set aside time for playful creativity, which helps to stimulate the mind.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Agree

I fully support teaching America’s founding documents. They’re the foundation of our liberty and limited government. However, patriotism shouldn’t be forced; schools should teach students to think critically, understand our history, and form their own views about what it means to be an American.

I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Strongly Disagree

I believe in treating everyone equally and with respect, but too often, DEI programs promote political agendas, divide people by identity, and undermine merit. Inclusion should mean protecting individual rights and free expression, not enforcing one size fits all ideology in our schools or workplaces.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

I fully support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and returning control to states, local communities, and families. Education works best when it's closest to the people it serves, not dictated by distant federal bureaucrats. As a school board candidate, I believe in local control, parental rights, and policies that reflect our community’s values, not Washington’s agenda.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, American History, Civics, Personal Finances, Foreign Language, Information Technology, Vocational Learning, Art & Music, Physical Fitness, Social Emotional Learning. Omitting: Gender Identity, Sexuality, Critical Race Theory, Political Activism

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

Absolutely agree. Please see previous responses.

Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?

I believe students should have equality of opportunity, where everyone has a fair chance to succeed based on their own efforts and abilities. Trying to enforce equality of outcomes often leads to unfair government control and reduces personal freedom. True fairness means removing barriers, not guaranteeing identical results.

Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.

I firmly believe that (A) Opt-In parental consent should be required.

2ND AMENDMENT

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

Strongly Agree

Our schools are too vulnerable, and we keep seeing mass shootings, with no recourse, and little action taken to put safeguards in place to protect our children. I think that we seriously need to focus on how we can prevent these tragedies from occurring, in the first place. The best defense against a bad guy with a gun is an armed person, on site, ready to take action. I 100% agree that, with proper training, vetting, and protocols in place, we can keep kids safe and make criminals think twice!

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.

Strongly Disagree

I believe health decisions, especially involving potentially dangerous vaccines, should be left to individuals and families, not mandated by the district. Schools can offer guidance and options, but government overreach into personal medical choices sets a dangerous precedent, as we saw during the Covid pandemic.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Choose not to answer

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I value free enterprise, voluntarism, and neighborly good. Parents have the ultimate authority over their children, should be involved in every step of their child's schooling, and have clear communication with schools. I believe in the goodness of people, and that we can have foster an environment that is conducive of conversation that primarily focuses on our shared beliefs, rather than the areas where we may disagree.

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

I believe that sexual education is primarily the responsibility of parents, as it is a highly sensitive topic that can be easily miscommunicated when not handled appropriately. Determining the right time to introduce various aspects of this subject is challenging, as it depends on a child’s age, stage of development, and personal experiences.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

I believe that the only portions of sexual education that should be taught in school are abstinence, consent, reproductive system, stages of pregnancy/fetal development.

Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.

Strongly Agree

Children should not so much as be exposed to the idea that there is something wrong with the way that their bodies were made, at school. It is not the place of anyone in the school system to address these concerns, and if there is ever an issue that comes up, parents have the right to be the first party to be informed of such issues.

Children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.

Strongly Agree

Children should never be exposed to age inappropriate content, in any form. This shouldn't have to be explained.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.

Neutral

Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.

Strongly Agree

100% agreed! As long as children are safe, fed, clothed, and healthy, parents should be allowed to raise their children according to their beliefs.

Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.

Strongly Agree

These records should be updated and complete, readily available, at all times. Parents should be involved in their children's counseling decisions, as well.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

EQUALITY

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

Sports (except co-ed), bathrooms, prisons, etc., should be separated by sex.
