QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion is a sensitive issue and there are good-faith arguments on both sides of the issue. My position is that it is not the government's business.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

"Not the government's business" includes both sides of the issue. We should not use government force to regulate it nor should tax payer dollars fund it.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Agree

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

People have the right to associate and disassociate with whomever they want.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Government should not close churches nor should it close any private business.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

That's a loaded question... The perpetual war state and the Military Industrial Complex have done more harm than good in global terrorism. The US should return to a non-interventionist policy, stop trying to police the world, and remove troops from its 750 bases spread over 80 countries.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Disagree

The US should neither support nor sanction Israel or Palestine.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Government should not be in the business of healthcare.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Government, including public schools, should not discriminate for any reason. Private owned businesses should be free to choose their rules for employment and entry.

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Taxation, where necessary, should be simplified. Americans and Alabamians are taxed too much.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

All of it.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Neutral

Student loans system should be overhauled. Government regulations such as subsidizing loans and barring them from being discharged in bankruptcy have caused tuition to outpace monetary inflation by 400%. I am not convinced, however, that government is the solution to a problem it created.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Disagree

The ability for people to freely trade money, goods, and services across property lines is paramount to a truly free, consumer driven market.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

All peaceful people.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Disagree

The qualified immunity doctrine should be eliminated. Bad actors should be held accountable throughout government. Police should be held to a higher expectation than the public at large, not granted special privileges or immunity. The blue wall brotherhood that prevents good police from calling out bad actors needs to be addressed as well.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None. Every gun law is an infringement on one's right to defend him/herself. Further, gun laws in the US are rooted in racism and bigotry and unjustly and more severely affect poor and marginalized communities.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

No other inanimate object on this planet is blamed when it is used by bad actors to do horrible things. Why are self defense tools treated this way? Hold the bad actors accountable.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

I agree with our founder's vision of a limited government. Alabama's Constitution does as well, in Article I Section 35. "That the sole object and only legitimate end of government is to protect the citizen in the enjoyment of life, liberty, and property, and when the government assumes other functions it is usurpation and oppression."

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Choose not to answer

Conservative vs Liberal; Right vs Left; Red vs Blue, these are all a binary way of looking at things. I believe one can be as left or right as they choose in their personal life so long as they agree not to use the force (or threat of force) of the government to force those views on others against their will.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Choose not to answer

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Strongly Disagree

Government should not be in the marriage business.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Neutral

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Choose not to answer

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Did not answer

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism still exists. I do not know if it is a domestic threat or not.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Neutral

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

Some current regulations may be exaggerated but we have a duty to protect our natural resources and the environment.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
