What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
Our role as a school board member is to allow the school system to direct the daily operations and education of the school system. Schools have established processes to direct students to needed medical assistance through counselors, social workers, and school nurses.
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
There is no federal constitutional right to an education. However, the state of North Carolina gives its children a right to an education through both the state constitution and state laws. As college does not determine the success in life of a person, public education should be publicly funded Pre-K through 12th grade.

According to Senate Bill 49, which was enacted in 2023, parental consent for medical treatment for minors is required. It imposes disciplinary action on health care practitioners who violate this provision. The bill requires school personnel to encourage students to discuss issues concerning their well-being with their parents, therefore the law must be followed.

Since we receive approximately 8% of our funding from the federal government, I believe there are better ways for the federal government to spend their money. Yes, once the board determines the appropriateness of a book, it is decided. This would allow for constant challenges. Our school district has a process for book challenges that is working.

This should have no bearing on my role as an educator. I am a deeply spiritual person and have values that support the rights of all people. I also honor the rights and beliefs of others as long as no harm occurs. Our country is made up of many cultures who have various spiritual beliefs, therefore it is only right for them to practice their own way.
Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.

If sexual education is taught in schools, what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
NC Senate Bill 49, which was passed in 2023 forbids curriculum-based instruction on gender identity, sexual activity, or sexuality in kindergarten through fourth grade. This prohibition does not apply to student-initiated questions. After fourth grade, age appropriate curriculum should be used.

Our job is to focus only on educating students about the science of reproduction. School employees are required to encourage children to discuss issues related to their well-being and sexual preferences with their parents.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

As the parent of a son and a daughter who participated in sports, I see the value of allowing only same sex sports. By allowing same-sex participation, it takes away from all the rights my generation fought for women. I also do not want women to impose on men's privacy and sports. In sports, create a third group to allow for transgender athletes to participate with each other.
