Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
To protect the life of the mother.
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
By demanding that our government model itself after -working and middle-class American families and live within its means. Our government is mortgaging our future and jeopardizing the solvency of Social Security through overspending. The $1.9 trillion Covid bill passed by Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats is case in point: Over $1 trillion of these funds are earmarked for failing Blue States and left wing pet projects that won’t benefit American workers and families. As Congressman I will work to reduce spending, eliminate red tape that undermines economic growth, and fight for a balanced budget to ensure we have the funds needed to preserve social security for future generation.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Reducing the size of the welfare state, stopping funding for unproven climate change initiatives, stoping subsidies for multi-national entities that are hostile to American interests and stopping subsidies for failing state budgets.
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Separation of Church and State means the fulfillment of the vision of some of America’s earliest settlers who fled Europe to escape state-sponsored religious persecution and worship God freely. Too often, liberal elites in government and media have tried to misapply this foundational First Amendment protection as a basis for weakening the role of religion in American life. This disgraces the vision of our Founders, many of whom were men of deep Christian faith. At the end of the day, while separation of Church and State means that the state cannot tell me how to pray or what Bible to read from, it also means that it has no right to interfere with my religious practices or remove religion symbols from the public square.
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
The government should generally minimize its involvement in healthcare to cut red tape and allow for more efficient markets. At the same time, the government should seek to promote solutions such as personal and portable healthcare plans, telemedicine, centers of excellence for chronic illness, and allowing patients more control over how their healthcare dollars are spent.
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
We must continue to support our allies, such as Israel, Jordan, and the UAE in fighting radical Islamic terrorism in the Middle East. We need to continue to leverage our Special Operations Forces to contain radical Islamic Terrorist organizations before they reach a critical mass and pose a broader threat. We must impose sanctions against state sponsors of radical Islamic terrorism such as Iran and respond to those sponsors of terrorist actions that impact American troops or interests with proportionate military action.
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
People who have demonstrated that they have the moral character, education, and skills needed to enrich our country and grow our economy, without hurting the wages of working Americans or increasing the size of the welfare state.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a proud Bible-believing Christian and Catholic. Faith is central to my life and family. My religious faith enhances my day-to-day life and lies at the foundation of my commitment to God, family, and country. I attended Georgetown Preparatory School, a Catholic Jesuit institution, for high school. The motto of the school was "Men For Others" after the Jesuit tradition. My religious studies there and the ethos around service have shaped my values and commitment to serving others. My Christian faith compelled me to serve my country as an Army officer and a Green Beret in the aftermath of 9/11. My Christian faith compels me to continue to serve my fellow Americans and Texans. That is why I am running for Congress in Texas’ 6th Congressional District.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I believe in the constitution, and took an oath to defend it against all enemies foreign and domestic. Not only did I take the oath, but I actually deployed to Iraq twice, once as an Infantry Officer and then as a Special Forces Officer, steeling my commitment to our country and constitution. My children are receiving religious education through our Church as our faith reinforces the values we hold sacred in our family. I am a lifetime member of the NRA and am avid sport shooter. I reload my own ammunition and I am proud to possess my concealed carry permit in the State of Texas.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am a former Green Beret with multiple combat deployments, I am a successful businessman having consulted or worked at some of the most successful businesses in America, and I am a proud husband to my Wife Missy and Father to my boys Tommy, Danny, and Jack. I would be honored to serve the great people of Texas' 6th District in Congress.
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Convicted violent criminals should not have access to firearm ownership.
I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
The Electoral College should be abolished.
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
1) Election integrity - we need to ensure that our system of elections is beyond reproach and that the citizens have confidence in the results of our elections. 2) Border security - we need to mitigate the crisis at the border. 3) Term limits - I have committed to propose legislation on term limits.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Without a doubt, violent racism has impacted the safety of Americans (e.g. shooting at a predominately black church in South Carolina and a shooting at Synagogue in Pittsburgh). That said, efforts on the part of the left to redefine racism to include all those who oppose their "woke" agenda are intentionally misleading, harshly divisive, and pose a threat to the unity of our nation.
