What is the function of the local school board?
The local school board articulates a clear vision for the district, maintains governance standards, appoints and manages leadership in the superintendent, and orchestrates the policies and guiding principles leading the district, including health and safety protocols, curriculum decisions, and budget allocations. The school board has the unique function of serving as liaison between the community and the district, upholding the needs and concerns of both schools and community, and advocating for the greatest benefit of the children.

Why are you running for this office?
I'm running for DSISD school board to offer a much-needed expertise in medical, mental health and public health to our schools, as our schools continue to intersect significantly with decisions affecting our children's mental health and emotional development. Moreover, I hope to bring my business experience to the district to bring more fiscal transparency and accountability through a rapid expansion.

I'm a mother of 3 young children and military wife who is passionate about doing what is best for our kids while maintaining excellence in education. The decisions I make affect my own children's lives; I am committed to seeing my children and all children not just survive, but thrive.
